Maya looked around the dark forest and shivered. Why was she out here? She was officially losing her mind. First, she ended up in some supernatural world while hiking in Massachusetts. Now, she awoke in the middle of the woods after falling asleep in a bedroom at Cillian’s house. The only other explanation besides insanity was magic, and Maya didn’t know if that was better or worse. Why was this happening to her? She knew there was no use dwelling on it, but at the same time, she didn’t feel like doing anything else. If she tried to find her way back to the house, she risked getting more lost. Instead, Maya sat down and brought her knees to her chest. She wanted to cry, but that felt childish, so instead, she tried to get some sleep.
