“It's dead,” or so I thought. Whatever they were, they were neither alive nor dead. My attack didn't work on them, at all. Frustrated, I growled and attacked again but before I could touch them, they vanished. In the thin air, leaving no residue of magic to trace them down. “What was that?” I whispered. “Elder Destiny,” My assistant, Thaddeus, rushed to me, his body battered from the battle. He was barely alive when he reached me and slumped before me. Before he could fall to the ground, I caught him in my arms and gently helped him to the ground. “What happened?” I asked him but he was in no position to say anything. “Thaddeus,” I called out his name and when he tried to gather his breath to answer me, I couldn't stop the tears from forming in my eyes. “Don’t you f*****g dare die
