The grandmother guided their steps to a room at the end of the hallway. A room with large clear glass windows. After a brief conversation with the nurse in charge of the intensive care unit, Quinn was finally allowed in for only five minutes. After a long time, Quinn was able to step in without being bothered by anyone or anything else. Her mother was lying unconscious in a bed. Two IV bags were attached to both sides of her neck and her face and arms were wrapped with bandages. Quinn rushed over to her mother. "Mother, mother, please wake up!" Emma's body is full of wires connected to life-supporting devices. Quinn touched her mother's shoulder, but the only thing she got was a cold skin and lifeless body under Quinn's fingers.
