“I'll try to be more subtle,” he said moving to sit on the edge of the bed next to me.
“Yeah. Maybe not jumping into my bed like you belong here would be a start,” I scolded. “How is it you can suddenly appear to me while other times you're not here?”
“I'm not gone. Well technically I'm gone from this plane,” he said and flipped a length of ebony hair over a bare shoulder and then flopped along side of me, head resting on a hand, elbow bent. “But it's more than that—” his mouth quirked a little as though he tried to come up with an explanation. “I'm able to step into this realm, from the place where I dwell. I can step back and forth whenever I choose. It's like an invisible doorway. But I've realized there has to be a mirror somewhere nearby in order for me to do so.”
