Should I stay or should I go?

Daisy On our way back from the police station, Mr. Kane didn't say a single word to me. It was so frustrating. As soon as we have arrived back to his office I sat back behind my desk but he immediately called for me. With a heavy heart, I've entered to his personal office. Max shut the doors behind me and Marcus was sitting behind his desk. The soft light of early evening shined through the windows behind him. He was so handsome! I was still glad that I literally fell for him on the first day we've met. Although he treated me like an employee, sometimes as a silly little sister, I've admired him since I first saw him when he visited my grandfather with his dad. Back then, Marcus was only fifteen years old but he was already very handsome. My grandma caught me staring at him. - Why are you so fixated at the young master? - she asked and I could still remember the feeling when our eyes accidentally met. So handsome. - What's so bad about looking at my future husband? - I've asked and all I got for my silliness was a hit from my grandma on the top of my head with a rolled up newspaper. - Stop daydreaming about impossible stuff and come help me in the kitchen. Future husband... Sweety, know your place. - the bitter sweet memory disappeared when Marcus stares into my eyes. I felt y palms sweating, this silence couldn't mean anything good for me. Marcus was staring at a couple of documents without lifting his glance up from them when he spoke to me. - Daisy. Today's incident cannot repeat itself ever again. You are dismissed for today and tomorrow without pay. I want you to think about what you have done and as I sadi previously. Start acting according to your age. You can leave now. - But Mr. Kane. - his expression hardened and his eyes met mine. - I said, leave. - I've bowed deeply as my Sobo taught me. - Please accept my apologies Mr. Kane. I'll be at your service once you desire and in the meantime I'm going to do as you have ordered. Reflecting at my mistake and acting according to my age. - Max was about to say something but I didn't give him time. I rushed out of the office grabbed my bag and headed home with the metro. On my way home I was scrolling down on i********: and wondering "What a girl of my age would do on a Thursday night?" I've dedicated my life to learning and getting to know the different cultures where I came from, but I've never been fully accepted anywhere. For my family in Japan, I wasn't Japanese enough, my family here accepted me, but my surroundings always though of me as an exotic animal. Specially boys who were dying to see me act like the girls they saw in Animes. I didn't really made friends and since my obsession for Marcus from a young age became my hobby, getting better at everything took most of my time. While scrolling on my Insta one of the few friends I had wrote me a massage. @- Hey girl! Where have you been? #- Hi Sonia! Working as usual... What's up? @- Your boss is a tryant! Why don't you just leave him?! You are still so young! You should party and live instead of working for a workaholic how treats you as a biodecoration! El carbón ese... - I had to chuckle at Sonia's message. From an outsider point of view she was right. #- You know that I love my job. @- Yeah... Well job cannot love you! #- But it can f**k you up! @- LOL! Anyway, what are you doing tonight? #- I've just made a mess so I'm free for this week. @- Fantastic! Go home get pretty and I'll be there to pick you up in two hours! #- Where are we going? @-PARTY! HURRY! I shook my head and got off at the next stop. I had no idea when was the last time I went to a party. New York at night was almost more lively than in the morning and since I worked from dawn to evening, I never wished to go out after work. I entered to my little cozy apartment I've managed to buy and kicked my high heels off. I hung my bag and headed to the living room. There was still one and a half hour till Sonia arrived. I opened the cage and my babies ran out of it. They ran up on my arms and snuggles to my neck sitting on my shoulders. - Hey babies! My little nezumi! Did you miss me? - I've asked the two excited rats on my shoulders. I walked to the American kitchen, opened the big fridge and gave a piece of cheese to each one of them and spoke to them on my mother tongue. They were my little roommates. Max and Caroline. Max was a black rat with red eyes and cute white ears, while Caroline had blonde fur with big black eyes and white patches all over her body. I've named them after the protagonists of one of my favorite series Two Broke Girls. After they got their snacks, both ladies decided to join me under the shower running after me and enjoying the warm water that fall on them. When it was time for shower gel, I put them out of the shower cabin and they waited diligently playing inside their tiny towel. After the shower I've dried myself and them. I put my babies back to their cage and started getting ready. Both of them followed my every step through the cage curiously. - I know! You are wondering where this crazy woman is going again! Well ladies, mommy need to act according to her age and have some fun! So aunty Sonia is taking me out for a party! - I've turned some music on to lift my spirits. I wanted to stay in with them and watch our series with a warm blanket! Standing in front of my wardrobe in my bedroom, I choose black skirt that reached up to my knees and was easy to move in, a spaghetti strapped, sparkling top and but my hair up in a high ponytail. To my set, I've added a comfy leather jacket and long leather boots with high heels. I painted a nice cat eye for myself and painted my lips to a peachy color right when I grabbed my bag the front door slammed open. Sonia stormed in in her short red dress. Her curly hair was all over the place, her lips red as her dress and she was ready to party. - Hey! What are you doing here so early? - I've asked and she pinched my cheeks. - Chica! Based on my experience I thought you'll be still chilling on the sofa with those fatty rattys! - They are not fat! Just chubby! - Patata potato! Same thing! Let's go! - she grabbed my arm and I knew it was already too late to step back. I waved to the ladies and closed the door behind me. The next thing I knew was that Marcus threw me over his shoulder and was heading out of the disco with me.
