Valerie’s POV
When I woke up, I was sad to find that the bed was empty next to me. I slid my legs out from under the covers and waited for a couple of minutes, thinking he would probably appear out of nowhere as he had been doing since the first day I arrived, but he didn’t. I was starving and my stomach growled so loudly that I had no other alternative but to go in search of the kitchen.
My room stepped out into the passage, and it was the first time I really took a look at it.
The carpets here were immaculate, and looked brand new! Compared to the main house at Moon Stone, this place was definitely in better shape. Did it really have to do with the money? Surely a smaller pack would have less … I pushed the thought to the back of my mind for now and turned right at the end of the pass
