Valerie’s POV
It felt as if everything suddenly happened in slow motion as the head of the council stepped up to the podium. He thanked everyone for their participation. My heart was thumping so loudly in my ears that I had a hard time hearing him, and I took a deep breath to try and calm myself.
“I have never seen a voter's result like the one I’m about to give you. I’m sure you are all eager to hear the results, so let’s get to it. With a vote of 985 to 2, you have voted in favour of …” He looked my way and it felt as if my heart was going to jump right out of my damn chest! “A monarchy. It seemed only two people wanted the packs to be separated.” A roar of cheers and howls and hoots of joy went up in the room as Aries took me in his arms.
