When Peejay returned to the control room, Floyd was bent over his equalizer switches like a kid with a video game, so completely immersed in the creative process that he had no attention left for the tragic drama unfolding around him.
He was ignoring Angela for the most part. Now and then Captain Steuben had detected a lack of proper attention in Angela’s attitude. When Judge Mather first slipped his old bone into her sister, Angela had actually found the audacity to turn away in disgust. Steuben had corrected this lapse with a short burst of current that compelled Angela to mewl into her gag and buck spastically on her swaying perch. Floyd was only vaguely aware of this interval as a brief annoyance.
