Chapter Two... Unknown Evil

*Xander POV*

Today seemed a little off, my wolf Xeus had been pacing back and forth since the morning.

Zeus: Xander, something feels different today. I can't help but feel that something very important is going to happen.

Me: I have been feeling the same thing. I wonder what it could be. I feel an uneasiness.

Zeus: Well let's keep our eyes open.

Zeus walked to the back of my mind and disappeared. I was getting hungry and wanted to go to Fran and Max's cafe today. I had mind-linked Fran and told her to prepare for my arrival. I grabbed my phone from my desk and dialed Steven my best friend, who happened to be a demon. We had known eachother for a long time. Neither one of us had found our mates yet. I was always looking because I wanted to find my mate so much. Zeus was constantly bitching to me because he felt empty and hollow without our mate. We had looked everywhere for the past twelve years but never found her. I knew that Zeus was getting agitated more and more as the years passed without finding her. I was afraid that if she didn't come soon that we would lose our position as Alpha, because what is an Alpha without his Luna. My pack was strong, but lately my pack has been getting tense and starting to stray away from me. I was the Alpha of Lunar Moon Pack. I had been given the title of Alpha from my father when I was sixteen years old and now I am twenty eight.

Steven: What's up Xander?

Me: I wanted to know if you wanted to hang and go to Fran and Max's Diner with me.

Steven: Yeah, sure. Not like I have anything else better to do.

Sometimes it was hard to understand if Steven was being serious or sarcastic. I never truly understood why we were friends, I never even remembered when we really became friends. Steven told me that we had been friends since forever. Zeus told me once that I was an i***t and that he didn't like Steven or even trust him, but I was the one who decided to give him a chance and I trusted what he said. Within minutes of calling Steven he appeared seconds later in front of me in my packhouse. "What the f**k Steven. You about gave me a heart attack." I said panting as I clutched my chest. He just chuckled darkly and shook his head. "Ooopppssss." he said as he shrugs without concern. I just shake my head and laugh. I never pay any attention to his weird moods. Steven is Steven. We headed towards the diner when Zeus started shaking and howling like crazy.

Just as I opened the door to the diner the sweetest smell hit my nose. Lilacs and Roses. "Mate. That's our mate." Zeus said excitedly. She turned towards us and she seemed mesmerized by our appearance. Zeus took control before I had a chance to do anything and stood in front of her and held her tightly to him as he placed his head in her neck and took a deep breath. "Mate..." She passed out in our arms within seconds

*Steven POV*

When we had reached the diner I saw the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life. She was mesmerizing. When I heard Xander say the word Mate. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. He always takes everything I like away from me. I saw her first and yet he gets rewarded with her. I won't stand for this. My family are demons and I can have whatever I want. I made Xander my "best friend" because I wanted to find a way to destroy him. I found a witch who did black magic and she gave me a spell where I could mess with Xander's mind and make him believe what I wanted. I will take his mate from him. I want to wait though until they are mated and marked, because then when I take her and start my training to make her submit to me, Xander will feel everything and become weak. He will lose his mind looking for his mate and she will be right under his nose. I just smile evilly as my plan starts forming in my head.

*Xander POV*

"Alpha. Please she has been through so much. Please don't hurt her." Fran said frantically. I held my passed out mate in my arms and just narrowed my eyes at Fran. "I expect you to be in my office in an hour to tell me everything you know about my mate. Do you really think that I would hurt my MATE. She is mine Fran. She belongs to me. You dare question your Alpha!" Zeus surfaced and used his Alpha voice. Fran just trembled and bared her neck in submission. "Forgive me Alpha, I meant no disrespect. I will head to the packhouse now." she said trembling slightly. "Steven, let's go." I said annoyed. Steven just followed behind me closely. He seemed angry about something. I can only imagine he is mad because of the way his best friend was being disrespected. I went up to our bedroom and placed my mate on the bed and covered her with the comforter. I headed towards my office, because I knew that Fran was already there. She will tell me everything about my mate, because I need to know all about her, so that I can protect her.

*Steven POV*

I waited until Xander left and went to his office. There on his bed was the woman that would be mine. Not his, but mine. I sat there next to her on the bed and ran my fingers through her hair. She was so beautiful. "Soon my love, soon you will be mine. I can not wait to start the torture to make you submit to me. Dying would be sweeter than what I will put you through. You will beg and plead for mercy, but there will be none for you. All there will be is pain and suffering." I said as I ran my thumb over her plump lips and smiled cruelly. Xander won't know what hit him once I have him under my reign of terror. I got up and looked at her one last time before I teleported back to my realm.
