Kelly get your ass in here right now, damnit!" Kelly ran down the hallway out towards the door. Hell no, she wasn't staying here for another second. She rushed out the screen door down to her old jeep wrangler that was on its last leg. " Damnit girl, you better get back here!!" She heard him yell, as she heard the shotgun being loaded. Kelly was not putting up with her father any longer. He made her life a living hell since her mother passed and she couldn't do it anymore. She jumped into her jeep and heard a shot as it hit her taillight, as the gravel driveway sprayed everywhere from the tires. Kelly breathed a sigh of relief as she drove down the dark dirt road, only headlights illuminated amongst the trees. Ring, Ring,Ring Kelly looked at her phone, ignoring her father's phone call as she turned up Rascal Flatts singing along, Life is a highway I wanna ride it all night long, whoo If you're going my way I wanna drive it all night long... As she continued to sing with her dark blonde hair flowing in the wind as she drove onto the nearest interstate. Flashback " Kelly, Kelly, We are here my love" as I woke up from my mother saying my name to wake me up. I awoke to being surrounded by tall trees which circled a beautiful clear lake. As we got out of the car, my mother grabbed my hand and walked me towards a blanket laid out upon the soft green grass. " Why are we here mommy?" I asked. " This is mommy's favorite spot to relax. It's quiet and calm and I wanted you to share this place with me. Promise me, Kelly that you will always come here to relax if things get bad. " " Yes mommy, I love you" " I love you more" she replied smiling back at me as we spent the whole day playing in the lake and laughing while telling jokes. It was one of the best days of my life. End of Flashback As I continued to drive down the dirt road, I made a right near the single boulder,as I then watched for the double oak tree that would lead to the opening of the clearing of my mother's special spot. As I slowed down to my usual spot, my heart caught in my throat. There was a dark black lifted jeep right next to my usual parking spot. This place was hidden, who had found our private sanctuary? I cautiously crept up beside the unknown jeep. I grabbed my baseball bat that I kept in the backseat just for emergencies as I walked up to the driver's side window. There was no one present inside, I breathed a sigh of relief as I turned around and was then met with a tall dark man who placed his hand over my mouth to prevent me from screaming. He grabbed my waist and pulled me close, but I had been handled before. I bit his hand and he pulled away, " Damnit woman, that hurt" the handsome man said as his face was somewhat illuminated by the moonlight. I saw his short blonde hair spiked up, his clear blue eyes and sharp jaw as he looked at me with fire in his eyes. " Well what do you expect when you put your hand on a stranger's mouth? I don't play" I told him confidently. " I can see that" he chuckled, smiling such a beautiful smile that would make any woman melt. " I'm sorry, I'm Glynn. What's your name?" I looked at him in hesitation, I wasn't sure if I should give him my name. " The name is Kay" I replied as he just looked at me curiously. " hmm well Kay, your not a very good liar. Your shirt says Kelly on the back" he smirked at me. " Damnit" I said to myself. I had forgotten that I would sleep in my softball shirt from high school and it had my name on the back. " It's okay my dear. Just wondering though..." as he circled me like a lion about to pounce on it's prey. " What are you doing out here so late in the middle of nowhere?" He smirked at me. " To be honest" as I put my hand on my hip " This is my favorite spot to get away when things get bad..." as I tried to shake away the bad thoughts. Glynn just looked at me, " Do you mind some company? I don't want to intrude, but a beautiful woman like you doesn't need to be out here by herself. " The thought that this man assumed I couldn't take care of myself, pissed me off. " You know what, thanks but no thanks" I said as I waved him off and walked off. " Wait.." he said as he grabbed my arm. " Excuse me, I swear if you don't release me it will be the last thing you do" as I grabbed his arm and pulled it behind him. " Whoa cowgirl, slow down. I promise I mean you no harm" as he pulled me closer to him. I could see his piercing gaze looking over my whole face, " What do you want Mr. Worthington?" "I thought I wanted this..." as he nodded out towards the lake and the area surrounding it. " But now, I'm not so sure Kelly...." as his blue eyes stared into my soul.
