Celeste’s POV
“Sir! Please don’t send Connie away.” Annabelle pleads with tears in her eyes. I can tell father is reluctant to be harsh with Annabelle, so I need to step in.
“Father, please forgive Connie. It’s not like mother’s pocket watch was stolen, as a matter of fact I have it right here with me.” I pull it out of my pocket and open it up.
“Look.” I present to him the damaged watch. Look father. Look what happened to the precious watch carrying mother’s memories. My father sighs at the sight of it.
