19: Feeling guilty

Genevieve's POV I rode the school bus to school happily. So far, I've had two shifts at Betty's Diner and it has been amazing. My mum still had no idea that I had a part-time job. I kept giving her the excuse of going over to a friend's house to study. I felt so guilty for lying and it felt like the lies got deeper and worse each day. Despite the guilt, I couldn't bring myself to tell her the truth because I knew she would ground me to eternity if she could. I sighed, getting off the school bus. My spirit was dampened anytime I thought of what I'd done. Walking into the school building, I met with Owen getting off his bike. I stopped when he caught sight of me.
