Dune’s Point of View
A knock sounds.
“Come in.”
“Alpha Dune. We have some news.”
“Come in. What's the new information?” I said, settling down on my chair.
“Our spies sent to the Blood Moon pack have been discovered and sent back dead.”
I pinch the middle of my brows sighing.
“Is that all?”
“Well…”
“Spit it out already. What's the matter? Don't waste my time.”
“We also found out Anita is alive.”
“What?” I rose up from my chair looking at the messenger in front of me in disbelief.
“Yes sir. She's alive and hearty too.”
“You're giving your Alpha flimsy rumors.” I said my anger rising.
“No Alpha. I would never.” He said, bowing his head.
“How do you know? What's your confirmation?”
“One of the pack members saw her in a club yesterday and she was with some very powerful people.”
“Powerful people?”
“She was with the Blood Moon Alphas.”
I stiffen visibly. “How sure are you that it isn't a flimsy rumor?” I asked again, my jaw tensing.
“The person provided pictures too.” He said, handing me an envelope.
“You may leave.”
He bowed again leaving the office.
I sigh looking at the envelope. I go through the contents and my blood runs cold.
She was with the Blood Moon Alphas. Not just one of them but all four of them.
I gritted my teeth in anger as I looked through the pictures. Her light smile and the evident flirtation with all of them.
“Could that mean she was actually a traitor all along?” I thought to myself.
I look at the picture and their hands on her and a nerve wracking bitter jealousy starts as I look how happy she is without me.
Her smiles are so carefree. She was like that with me.
“After all the promises she goes off running to the next available man or men.Tch.” I thought to myself
“She leaves the pack and goes running off to the opposition. That bitch.” I said to myself.
The door is pushed open as Shelenda walks in with some shopping bags. Her high heels clicked on the tiled floors.
“I'm back.” She said with a wide smile.
I push the pictures under some files smiling back at her. If she noticed what I just did. She paid no attention to it.
“Hey love. How was your day?” I said with a smile.
“It was wonderful. You should see the things I got today…” She said s typing into my lap.
I zone out from what she was saying. Anita wouldn't waste money to buy shoes she has in another color or a purse she would use for only a year.
“Are you listening to me?” She asked, her eyebrows furrowing.
“Oh yes. I was just lost in space. We found out that the spies were sent back dead today.”
“That's too bad, maybe they should have been more careful. How hard is it to just blend in and spy? Anyways, this purse I saw in Harvey's…”
“Anita would've consoled you and she would have made some strategies but here Shelenda goes talking about shopping.” I compared the two girls.
“Hm what's this?” Shelenda said, pulling out the envelope.
“Oh it's work stuff.” I said pushing it back not wanting her to see it and get the wrong idea.
“I don't care. I want to see. You hid it when I came in.” She said, pulling the envelope.
My palms began to sweat as she pulled the contents out of the envelope. Her smile turned into a thin grim line.
“What? She's alive?” She said standing up from my lap.
“That's not important right now.” See who she's with. The men in the picture.”
“Are these?”
“The Blood Moon Alphas.”
“That traitorous b***h. I can't believe she did this and I can't believe she's still living.”
“I think she's on their side now. Do you think she's coming for revenge?”
“I hope the f**k not.” She said pacing.
“But why do you have this?” She said looking at me with anger in her eyes.
“I-”
“Answer me right now.” She said tears were pooling in her eyes.
“You should calm down.”
“You're stalking her huh?” She said, pushing things off my desk with a loud bang.
“No babe. You have the wrong idea.”
“What else should I have when my lover is seemingly stalking the traitorous b***h who we sent out of the pack.”
“It was given by a messenger. A member of the pack saw her with all four of the Blood Moon Alphas. I would never stalk her. She can never measure to you.” I said crossing the desk to hold her shaking body in my arms.
“I can't allow her to have you. That's all she wants. This is her revenge and we can't fall into her flimsy traps.”
“Yes.”
“Swear you wouldn't leave me.” She looked up at me with tear stained eyes.
“We're mates. I wouldn't leave you even if it were the last option on earth.” I said, pushing her hair back.
“Good.”
I hug her small frame as I think how life with Anita would have been so different and so peaceful. No tantrums, a lot of support and no shouting or panicking that I'm going to leave her. Life would have been good but this is my life now.
I sigh.
“I should have killed myself when I had the chance. This b***h hunts me in my dreams and now in real life.” Shelenda murmured with a throaty laugh.
“We'll kill her.” I said to Shelenda. The words left a bitter taste in my mouth.
“But now she has the Blood Moon Alphas. How do we do that within it causing a full blown war?”
“Don't worry we'll find a way.” I said, kissing her forehead.
“We always find a way.”
