Chapter Ten – The King and his Dog Esperanza’s point of view. After a few days missing, I was happy to see Fluffy today, he had been to visit me a few times over the past few weeks, and today he came again. I was in utter terror when he tried to bury the lambs bone I had commandeered for him in the flower garden, but he left shortly after, and I was able to move the soil with my foot to cover most of the hole he had dug. That little incident had chased away my other fear, we had been receiving books and lessons on what to expect during the conjoining, and what his majesty may prefer to do to our bodies, and the whole thing frightened the life out of me, there was so much I did not know, and had no mother to teach or tell me what to expect. We approached the dining hall for high
