Chapter Fifteen – A Plot is uncovered. Uncle Morton’s Point of view. I sit in morning prayer, my mind troubled as my thoughts rested upon my niece. Esperanza is a good obedient girl, and I wished there had been some other way than send her into the lion’s den. I fully support the rights of the King, but he had been ill advised of late, and I know he was caught up in the trappings of power, greed, and envy. He had ascended the throne at to young and age, but after the old king had been taken by the breathing sickness he was forced into his position. My hope is that with Esperanza by his side, he will become more in touch with his subjects, and a true leader of the people.
