Crud!” Christina screamed. She looked at me in fear. “You i***t! I told you not to move!” “What?” I said, raising my voice to be heard over the blaring alarms. “I got startled. And anyway, you said this was the least protected part of the island!” “Least protected doesn’t mean it’s not protected at all,” Christina snapped. “But come on. These alarms are loud for a reason, and if we don’t get out of here fast—” The rustling of the trees above was the only warning sign we got before something huge and burly fell down on top of Christina. Christina screamed as the creature fell on her, knocking her to the ground and grabbing at her hair. “Christina!” I said. “Get off her!” I grabbed the creature’s big, hairy back and pulled it off her.
