Whatever Johnny thought an awards show would be like, this isn’t it. Their seats suck—they’re so far back from the stage, Johnny can barely see the podium. Once they’re escorted to their seats, Roxy wants to sit beside Mel, refusing to sit beside someone she doesn’t know or on the end of the row, so Johnny takes the aisle while Brett sits on the other side of the girls. Johnny glares at the seats around him as the amphitheatre starts to fill up, sure nothing can improve the evening. Twice before the show starts, Roxy and Mel leave to go to the bathroom. The first time, Johnny slides over to Brett to complain about their view, but the girls are back before he even begins to get comfortable. The second time, he mutters, “Again?” and earns a kick in the shin as Roxy pushes by him on her way
