1 One Body and Three Lives
Robert asked, his voice cold and emotionless. "Sign this, carry my children, but know that we will divorce," he stated. They were married for three years, and this is where it ended. Although she knew it wasn't love that brought them together, she had always hoped that he would fall in love with her.
The tears stung Emily's eyes as she opened her red lips slightly. With every beat, she can feel her heart breaking! After taking a deep breath, she felt like her heart was ripped from her chest and crushed in someone's hands.
The mere sight of her disgusted Robert. As he threw a bank card at Emily, he said, "Don't forget! Emily, you only slept with me to have my baby. Otherwise, you would have needed more time to sleep with me. You are nothing more than a gold digger. The thought of her being his wife made Robert even more annoyed, "I will let you give birth to my child, which will give you the respect and attention you wanted, but just know that all you will ever be to me is the mother of my child, nothing more!"
"You will die a gold digger," Robert stated with such hatred that he was no longer interested in staying there; he felt irritated whenever he saw her face. He walks out and shuts the door behind him, not looking back.
The door slammed shut, and the silence seemed to echo his cruel remark.
Emily, Smith's only daughter, should have felt loved by her parents and husband. Because of her childhood illness, she was raised by her uncle and aunt. She didn't live with her parents as a child.
At least she wasn't a vegetable and did not have dementia. Still, she ended up becoming mute for unknown reasons, and she suffers when people mistreat her with the belief that she is stupid because she is mute when people ignore her and when others stomp on her! Emily's white fingertips rubbed her neck slowly, and tears ran down her cheeks as she recalled her miserable life. What is the point of crying? They all believe that is her way to get sympathy.
Emily wiped away tears after getting her emotions in check. She took up the pen next to her and signed the divorce papers. She has no ties with the Jones family as of now...
"What am I going to do?" Emily thought. She was about to leave the Jones' house when she saw the last person she wanted to see in the corridor!
Anna! She had been in love with Robert for a long time, and not only was she born wealthy, but she was also well-liked by everyone in their group. Anna has a lot more money and friends than Emily! On the other hand, Emily is a mute whom everyone, including Robert, thinks is some dump girl!
Emily was nervous; she wanted to leave there as soon as possible. If she stayed here longer, Anna would mock her and make things difficult. It was too late, however.
Anna grabbed Emily's hand, ignoring the fact that Emily was pregnant. "Why are you in such a rush, Emily? If you want me to tell you that you can be with Robert, you are mistaken; as a mute wife, you disappoint Robert! How can you be so selfish? Tell me how you imagined it would end for a mute like you. Did you truly believe Robert would fall in love with someone like you? You can't even talk to him, let alone be his wife!"
Emily doesn't know where she got her strength, but she fights hard and pushes Anna away.
She is dead tired and wants to get out of this place. She wants to start a new life with her children, and if Anna thinks she wants Robert back, she is making a mistake. Emily is tired of fighting for someone who clearly doesn't want her. She wants to live her life in peace.
Anna was furious. She had no idea where this b***h had gotten the courage to defend herself suddenly!
“Come here!” Anna snarled and grabbed Emily.
With both hands, Anna presses her shoulders firmly against the wall. Taking Emily's hand, she made her touch her growing belly, "You made such a fool out of yourself for three years! You stood by Robert's side even though you knew he didn't love you," Anna sneered down at Emily, "Do you really think you should be the one to carry his children? You can't even make Robert love you. How on earth will his children love you as their mother?" Anna smirked as she continued taunting Emily.
"Listen: I am the only person who should be carrying Robert's children. You got pregnant solely because of Robert's desire for an heir!"
She could tell by Robert's attitude and how he looks at Emily that he regards her as nothing more than trash!
Emily had let herself become pregnant by a man who did not love her. She has learned in the last three years that Robert will never love her like a man should love a woman; even though she has been in love with him for so long, no matter what she did, he never noticed or treated her like his wife. She was just the dumb, mute wife.
Emily sighed and closed her eyes. She couldn't cry in front of Anna. She was sad, alone, and hurt.
Anna smirked as she looked at Emily's heartbroken expression.
Emily is a f*****g i***t. Who will know if I do something to her and the kids? Anna thought.
"Hmm!!" Anna took a small bottle of poison she had already prepared, opened Emily's mouth with one hand, and forced her to swallow it! Emily was taken aback by what was happening and quickly realized what Anna was about to do.
Anna! Emily's eyes are wide open, and she is struggling furiously. She silently cries her name in her head, but she can't scream for help because she can't speak!
How can she compete with Anna's strength?
Emily gave up struggling; Anna was far stronger than her.
The poison has no taste, but Emily finds it bitter.
Emily swallowed the poison after it was poured into her mouth.
This poison had an immediate effect. Emily is only aware of abdominal pain and blood dripping between her legs as she is dragged to the stairs and kicked down!
There is no camera here, and Anna has sent the servants who were nearby away. Anna was aware that Emily was alone upstairs, and she needed to ensure that Emily would not be a part of Robert's life, let alone carry his children.
"Please, just die already!" Anna scowled. She turned around, cleaned up any traces that could lead back to her, then got up and left without looking back at Emily.
Pain!
It hurts so much! Emily thought as she lay at the bottom of the stairs.
Emily's strong will to survive forces her to fight. Her face was pale, and the cold sweat on her head continued to fall.
The blood streamed down Emily's legs, and she was weak, feeling like she would die any second.
Is she really going to die in this place? Her life had been nothing but a living hell. If she can do it again, she wants a new life, hopefully, better than this one...
As she struggled to save herself and her children, darkness overtook her.
If some servant hadn't forgotten something and returned to get it, Robert would only know later that Emily had fallen down the stairs! Anna thought bitterly. She followed Robert as he moved towards the staircase.
"You said Emily is obsessed with you, but I didn't think she was stupid enough to do something like this. Even though you told her you wanted a divorce, she didn't need to injure herself or the baby because she couldn't bear the thought of losing you!"
Robert frowned as he heard Anna's words. He had a bad feeling about everything, but he couldn't explain why. Was this because he asked for a divorce from her? He can't imagine Emily doing anything like this to prevent him from divorcing her. He knew she loved the children she was expecting and would never harm them. Robert immediately took Emily's lifeless body and rushed to his car, leaving behind an angry-looking Anna. All he could think of was to get Emily and his children to the hospital.
The lights are on in the operating room, and no one knows when they will come out. Robert is sitting in a chair outside, looking depressed and uncertain about what to think. It's been a few hours, and he still hasn't heard a word from the doctor.
The door was suddenly pushed open, and the doctor entered, asking, "Who are Mrs. Roberts' family members?"
Robert raised his head and softly stated, "I am her husband."
When he heard Robert's response, the doctor raised his hand and removed his mask. "I am really sorry, Mr. Roberts, We tried our best, but your wife was bleeping too much; the delivery was too soon. The babies and your wife didn't make it," he sighed, giving Robert a sad smile.
"Three lives, one corpse..."
