Just as both were in shock, Rena reacted first. "God, I have to hurry to escape this suffocating meeting." Rena said to herself as she immediately got her hands on the door and tried to shut Carlos out.

Just as the door was about to be closed, Carlos stuck out a foot and managed to stop Rena's plan. He moved his body forward, trying to squeeze through the small gap into the room.
"Please." Rena's voice took on a bit of a sobbing tone. She pushed against the door with her own body to prevent it from being forced open by Carlos.
Now, both bodies were pressed against the door. They were so close that they could feel each other's warm breath through the gap in the door.
