No one had ever thought that the mysterious boss of the famous Dela Cruz group would work and serve as a nurse in a hospital; this was because most people believed that she was dead and long gone.
But now, she was busy as a detective who had to disguise as a private nurse to gather enough evidence to her parents' death and was later turned into a full housewife whose opinion didn't matter, nor did it ever count.
Lisa had privately pleaded with the doctor in charge of Alex to assign her as his personal nurse without making mention of her. At first, it wasn't a hard task to get along with him as he was super friendly, but as soon as his mother noticed their new developed relationship, she convinced Lisa with getting married to her son.
But even though Lisa had agreed to the marriage, she never thought it would turn out like that. She had thought that she could change Alex's mind, that she could make him see how much she cared for him. But it was all in vain. She had been deluding herself, thinking that she could make him love her when he was already in love with someone else.
But now, things have taken a drastic change, and she'll no longer be the vulnerable lady who anyone can trample on like she's worth nothing! It's time to let go of whatever feelings she might be having for Alex and take the bull by the horn instead.
Those moments when Alex was newly a victim of the accident, he was in a very critical condition that needed more attention both physically, emotionally and mentally, but Rosy did never appear nor pay him a visit.
Instead, she would only send him numerous messages at nights. Perhaps this might be the reason Mrs. Williams despises Rosy more and asks Lisa to marry her son before Rosy gets the chance to persuade Alex, since he's head over heels with Rosy.
Times without numbers, Alex's mother had called Rosy on the phone and cussed at her, calling her all sorts of name and laid accusations on her as well.
“You are no different from those dirty sluts on the streets who get hooked up with men just to mooch them off their hard-earning fortune and fame...” Mrs. Williams accused. “The earlier you stay away from my son, the better for you, woman!”
Despite everything, Rosy wasn't moved by Mrs. Williams threats. She strongly believed Alex couldn't do without her —that thought was enough to fuel her confidence more.
Until the day she received yet another call from Mrs. Williams. “You claimed to love Alex but here he is lying on his sickbed with another woman taking care of him...” She told her.
Rosy scoffs at Mrs. Williams' words. “There is nothing wrong with having another woman assisting me in taking care of my Alex. No matter how much she tries, she can't take my Alex from me...” She remarked, overwhelmed with self-confidence.
Mrs. Williams snickered at Rosy's confidence. “Too bad for you, Rosy, they've both gotten married a few days ago —and now you are at a loss! There is nothing...” Rosy did not give Mrs. Williams the chance to complete her statement before cutting the cut abruptly.
Rosy can tolerate anything but not Alex being snatched away from her grip —she can't stand anything like it, and now he's married to some random lady, eh? This got Rosy mad, and she made sure she did everything she could to separate them. Even after many months, she did achieve her aim in the end!
………………………………………………..
Alex got home the next morning after spending his usual daily nights with his ex-girlfriend, Rosy. Ever since he reconnected back with Rosy, it has become a daily routine for him to spend every night with her, and he could only be seen at home the next morning because he needed to get ready for another day.
He would come home, freshen up and dress for work and after work, he would go to Rosy instead. For all that time, Lisa had been living alone and busily married to herself instead of her husband, Alex.
Alex noticed Lisa was missing, but he shrugged the thoughts off. After all, she's not his burden for him to worry about, neither is she a child. "Maybe she's busy with the house chores as usual, why worry?" He concluded within himself and headed up to his room to prepare for the day.
Alex had taken his bath and dried his body, including his hair. He had finished dressing and was ready to go to work, applying his perfume. His eyes caught a glimpse of the neatly arranged papers on his dressing table.
He paused for a second and dropped his perfume. "What's this..?" He muttered under his breath as he picked the papers up, his eyes widening in realization. "Divorce papers? Did she sign them already?"
He couldn't help but feed his curiosity as he quickly flipped through the papers he had prepared for a long time. Indeed, Lisa had finally signed the papers after many months of waiting, he's finally free from the stupid marriage he managed to find himself in. At that moment, Alex felt as though a burden had been lifted on his shoulder and he couldn't hide his happiness.
"Finally..." He breathed out in relief, grinning from ear to ear. "I never knew that greedy weak nurse would give up her motive so easily and leave just when I least expected. Seems like Rosy is the perfect match for her, she couldn't even stand Rosy's attack!"
Alex couldn't stop himself from laughing out loud. For a moment, he forgot everything else and tried to savor the feeling of his freedom. "Who would have thought she would leave so soon, eh?" He asked himself, releasing yet another satisfying laughter.
"Maybe..." He thought out loud. "She had given up so soon when she realized she wouldn't be getting a penny from my wealth even though we are married. Phew, such a poor lady! I feel for her already." Mockery was evident, even in his thoughts.
