The buzzing of my phone wakes me.
As I roll over, my hand goes to the empty bed beside me. I peek one eye open, finding Jana putting her dress from last night back on.
“Where are you going? I booked an extra day to enjoy for myself. Thought maybe you’d stay too.” I sit up on the bed and bring my knees up. I honestly thought we had something special and broke that barrier last night.
She walks over to the side of the bed. “Zip me up?” I do as she asks, then she’s searching for earrings. “Don’t pretend we didn’t know what this was. We’re both adults, Zeus.”
“Why are you calling me that?” I ask between gritted teeth.
“Because it’s your nickname.”
She sits on the edge of the bed to put on her shoes. I crawl over and kiss her neck, allowing my hands to find the zipper I just zipped up.
