Chapter 1
The rain was pouring outside, showing no Mercy to people who were walking to the safety of their houses. A car came to an abrupt halt in front of a tall building and a girl speedily ran out of the car. She ran towards the revolving doors and swinged it open, looking as if she needed immediate shelter from the Rain. "Miss.Carson,What brings you here at this odd hour?" The guard on night duty asked her. "Is Steven in?" She instead asked. The guard hesitated a bit and this she noticed. "Yes Ma'am." Before he could say another word, she entered the elevator and pressed the hit button. Up, she went to the last floor. While inside the elevator, she tried so hard to control her tears while wiping the blood from her clothes. She sniffed repeatedly and couldn't wait to see her fiance. Probably get a hug and nice comforting words from him cause today just seemed to be the darkest day of her life. The elevator dinged open and she rushed out into the hallway. Hurriedly, her feet carried her towards Steven's office. He liked working late often, and now it was raining was the perfect time to do so. The people in the office had all gone home and the hallway was quiet. She abruptly came to a halt. Indeed, Steven was working late. He was working energetically late on top of his Assistant,Sandra. The transparent office walls were not fogged so everything was crystal clear to Elizabeth's eyes. She stood there, unable to speak as her hands flew to her mouth. He was hitting his Assistant so passionately as their bodies merged together, their moans renting the air. Only when he turned his Assistant for a change of position did he notice her. His eyes widened and he pulled out of his Assistant hastily, scampering for his clothes while urging her to do the same. "Elizabeth," he called rushing out to meet her.She stood there, staring at him as she let her tears flow. The day was already over for her. She wasn't sure she could ever survive this day. "Elizabeth," he called again in a throaty voice as he reached out for her but she drew back. "Would you listen to me please? It's not what you think." He rubbed his hands through his hair. "I mean, all men cheat. It's not like I'm the first." He drew her close. "That doesn't mean that I don't love you or anything," he cuddled her close, slowly stroking her hair.. "You know I love you right? This is all just a mere thing. I don't feel anything for her. You know we got a wedding coming up,right?" He lifted her chin to look at him. But through her glasses, all Elizabeth could see was a selfish, lying, pompous jerk. It felt as if the rain has washed her blindfold off too. She slowly pushed him off. "Yes, you're right, Steven. This is all a mere thing to you." She played with the ring for a while and gently removed it from her finger. "Elizabeth, What are you doing?" Steven asked, unsure of emotions to process. He didn't like what he thought she was doing. "I'm done, Steven. Done. I can't do this with you anymore." She sobbed. "Elizabeth, please,no,don't do this.." He pleaded holding her hand. "Goodbye Steven and this time,I mean it." She said. "You can't just leave Elizabeth. What about my mother?" He asked, real fear flashing across his face. "I don't know Steven, and I honestly do not care anymore!!" She yelled at him. She tried running away but he grabbed her hair and pulled her back, giving her a slap across the face which made her glasses fall off, as she sprawled on the ground. "Where do you think you're going, huh?!" He shouted, slapping her again. She felt her mouth bleed and her eyes go red. "f*****g b***h, I had to put up with such an unattractive silly girl all this while." He spat, "Did you honestly think any guy would fall in love with someone like you, let alone a hot guy like me?" He kicked her belly hard. "If it wasn't for my mother, I wouldn't have put up with such a stupid girl. Had to go below my standards. You wouldn't even give me s*x. I mean, it's the most common thing!!" He kicked her again. Going closer to her, he Yanked her hair up again and spat in her face. "b***h,you'll do what I want you to do and only that." He said, "I f*****g own you!! You hear that?! I might as well take the much sought after virginity. I mean, who still does such old fashioned things in the 21st Century?" He said, slowly unbuckling his trousers as horror filled Elizabeth's eyes. She needed a way out. Suddenly, everything happened so quickly. The lights blinked and Elizabeth reached for a ballpoint pen she found on the table and dug it into the nearest part of his body. He screamed and without waiting for a reaction, she ran out into the private Elevator, hurriedly hitting the last floor down.. She got downstairs and found the guard on duty, without sparing him a glance, she ran out into the rain. In the distance, she could hear the sirens wailing. "Oh No, they must have tracked my car." She gasped, entering into the car and starting it. In the pouring rain, the patrol cars gave her a hot chase, she kept on driving aimlessly in order to escape as She could constantly hear them calling for backups and ordering her to stop. Her eyes kept watering, getting more blurry without her glasses. She thought about everything. The Murder of her Father tonight, her half-siblings would probably frame her for it. It was obvious she was wanted, because She was always seen with the man as his last and favorite child. Her life was very simple until hours ago when the men had brutally barged into the house and shot the man to death. Unable to think, she had called her stepsister Henrietta, who seemed just close. She was surprised she showed up that fast. What was she saying, even though they never met eye-to-eye, Elizabeth was sure Rie must have loved their father. Things took an ugly turn however, instead of calling an ambulance, Rie called the police informing them of the Murder, claiming that she had the Murderer with her. Putting Elizabeth into a tight spot, she had run off to her Boyfriend with the idea of telling him about her predicament and request solutions. But Alas... The Wipes stopped working all of a sudden and she couldn't see anything again. Soon, she felt her car hit a big truck and started somersaulting down the wet, sloppy hill. Oddly, She felt at peace. Maybe,if she left this world, everything would be okay. She didn't hit the Airbag or try to shield her face as the car tossed her fragile body everywhere and anywhere. Glasses and iron cut her body but she didn't care. At last, the car rested at the foot of the hill. Her whole body felt broken and she was sure she was gonna die. She could smell the petrol leaking. Yes,the car was going to burst into flames anytime soon. Up on the hill, the patrol cars had stopped and would probably be down the hills in a matter of moments. Suddenly, the car burst into flames.
