Chapter Two

Chapter Two   The next day, I decided to go outside.  I want to see the town I’ll be living in from now on. At exactly 8 am, I went out of the house. I only brought my wallet and phone with me. I locked the front door of my house and just walked my way to the market since it is not too far from the residential areas.   When I reached the center of the town, I saw that many people are selling different kinds of things. There are flower shops, pet shops, restaurants, and fast-food chains. There are also grocery stores and drug stores. I also saw some cafés.   I decided to go to a shop that sells home decorations. Last night, I noticed that the whole house has no decorations at all, so I have to buy some.   When I was inside the shop, I went straight to the canvas painting section. I saw a beautiful painting of the full moon with a silhouette of the leaves of a tree. It wasn’t so big, I guess it will look good in the living room.   I got the painting and held it in my hand while I walk to the vase section. I got a cute blue vase but I realized it won’t look good in my room. So I decided to just get a transparent colored vase. I got two of it so that I could have one for my coffee table in the living room and on my bedside table.   When I was on my way to the cashier, I passed by the lampshade section. I noticed a cute moon lamp. I checked it and it was so small, but the light is enough for me to sleep on. I got the lamp and went straight to the cashier.   The cashier, who I think is only years older than me, scanned my items then packed each in a box. When she was done, I handed her my p*****t. I said thank you to her. When I was about to get out of the shop, I realized I still need to eat my breakfast. I went back and talked to the woman behind the cashier.   “Excuse me,” I called her.   She turned to me and smiled. “Yes, how can I help you?” she asked.   “Can I just leave these here?” I asked her. “I still have somewhere to go.”   She nodded. “Of course, you can.” She held out her hand so I handed her the boxes.   I smiled at her. “Thank you so much. I’ll be back in a while.” I told her and went out of the shop.   I don’t know where to go. I just walked to the nearest pancake house I saw. I went inside and saw that many people are eating there. But there are still vacant tables available.   I went to the counter to order my food. “Two-piece pancake, please. With strawberries and cream.” I told the guy at the counter. “Add black coffee please,” I added.   He tapped my order on the screen. I got my money from my wallet and gave it to him. “You’re new here, aren’t you?” he asked while getting my change.   I smiled. “Yeah, I just moved in yesterday,” I told him.   He smiled back and nodded his head. “You’ll love Clarksville. Enjoy your stay here.” He said while giving me my change.   “Thank you,” I told him and went to the vacant table beside the glass wall.   When my order arrived, I ate my food while watching the people passing by. When I finished eating, I left the restaurant.   I decided to just stroll outside for some time. When I got tired, I went inside a flower shop and decided to look for flowers that would look good on my coffee table and in my room.   I was busy smelling the flowers when a lady, who I think is the owner of the shop, approached me.   “How can I help you?” she asked.   “Oh, I was just picking flowers for my new house. I just moved in yesterday so, you know, I just decided to do décor shopping today.” I smiled at her.   She smiled back at me, “So that is why you don’t look familiar.” She said. “The people in Clarksville know each other as this town is small; the people here are close to each other.” She told me. “Here let me help you.”   She asked me the color of my living room and my bedroom for I told her that I’m picking flowers to put there. I let her decide on what flowers to get because I have no idea what to pick.   When she was done arranging them, she showed me the two arrangements she made.   “It looks so pretty.” I complimented her.   She smiled. “Thank you.” She packed the flower so I got money from my wallet to pay for her. I handed her my money but she just waved her hand.   “That will be my ‘welcome to the neighborhood’ gift to you.” She said smiling.   “Oh, thank you so much!” I told her. I put my money back inside my wallet. She handed me the flowers and I admired it before I decided that I have to go home.   “Thank you, again, Ms.-“ she cut me off.   “Mrs. Kelly.” She said.   “Thank you, Mrs. Kelly.” I smiled at her and went out of her shop.   I went back to the décor shop to get the things I bought earlier. I said thank you to Genevieve, the one in the cashier.   I had a hard time going out of the décor shop carrying all the things I bought.   “Oh gosh.” I murmured.    “Hey, let me help you.”  I looked at the guy who approached me, well I think he is gay, not a guy. He’s smiling at me, lending his hand.   I smiled at him. “Is it okay?” I asked him, feeling embarrassed.   “Of course.” He said. “Here, let me carry that.” He said and got the box of the canvas painting and the two boxes of vases.   “Thank you so much,” I told him as we go out of the shop. “What’s your name?” I asked.   “I’m Cayden.” He smiled. “And you?” he asked.   “I’m Selena,” I told him.
