“Why would you even set such a condition?”
“It seemed like something that might be hard for you and I do like to see a big man squirm,:” she said
He finally picked up his head and Zirri was staring into his fiery green eyes as he scowled at her, “In this little game of yours, you decide if it is personal enough, correct.”
“Yes.”
“So, really, depending on what satisfies you I could end up telling you everything before your gotdamn runes set me free?”
“Hence the make it juicy comment earlier, of course I wouldn’t mind little tidbits about you but out of fairness I would like to warn you they won’t get you out of here.”
He hung his head again. Zirri was amused that he, as she had expected, did not really want to talk about himself. She felt compelled to touch him so, without a second of thought or hesitation, she placed both of her hands on his face and gently urged him to look at her. She felt like her hands were warming up simply by touching him. Feeling his beard was not nearly as rough as she assumed it was. When she had his attention again she said, “We are simply talking, don’t be such a baby about it.”
The feel of her soft hands on his face was gentle and comforting which annoyed him to no end. He jerked his face out of her hands and growled at her. She put her hands up palms facing him in mock surrender. He then sat up straight and out of her reach. Zirri ignored the small bit of longing to touch him longer that lingeredd within her. She placed her hands on the table she was sitting on and leaned a little as she watched him watching her as he began to pace again.
Yakir felt trapped and that made him hot and uncomfortable, He felt as if the same building he sat in for hours not to long ago was now a source of anxiety. What could he tell her that wouldn’t come back to bite him in the ass? “There is no f*****g way I can sit here and start babbling about myself. Ask me what you want to know, I’ll answer and we can be done with this!”
“What’s the fun in that?" She said tilting her head in question.
“You sadistic brat, don’t you have something better to do? Why does a princess have this much free time anyway?”
Zirri sighed, he was stalling and she knew it. Yakir really didn’t understand the princess he claimed was stalking him. She could wait him out if he wanted to do this the long complicated way."All my free time has been tracking your movements and patterns. Such a fascinating compulsion you and those like you have. Following storms I mean."
"Compulsion is a strong word don't you think?" He said pacing.
Rolling her eyes she crossed her long legs and sat up straighter. She followed him with her eyes as he paced back and forth in front of her. Everything about her stance on the table screamed princess despite the casual street clothes she was wearing. Even in her casual clothes she exuded a royal air about herself. He was a noble too but he was not true royalty. This woman was and it showed. Her words brought him back from his musings.
“I am a princess that has lived for centuries and still has a cousin and 2 brothers ahead of me for any real royal responsibility. When my family needs me they will call for me and I will play the perfect royal and do whatever needs to be done for my family and my people back in Anilorac.”
She uncrossed her legs and slid off the table seeming more relaxed and she smiled at him mischief shining in her white irises. “Sweet, temperamental, beast I hunt you because I don’t wish to be doing anything else. A rare storm dragon of the Lyfew clans beast soul would be a treasure all its own. However, your beast soul is not what I am asking for. Not today at least. Tell me about you and you are free for me to hunt another day.” she said smirking up at him.
“Like catch and release.” he said sarcastically.
“Exactly.”
“You truly intend to hunt me until you retrieve this beast soul?”
“Or one of us dies.” she said with a shrug as she strayed off her path towards him.
“You can’t just hunt people. There are laws against this sort of thing in Detinu if you are unaware.”
“As I said I have no intention of slaying or imprisoning you, Lyfew. Hunting people with the intent to kill or imprison is illegal. I am doing it for sport and a mutual partnership"
"Is that what you are calling becoming your pet now?"
Zirri ignored the comment and kept explaining her point"I’m a princess so I am sure stalking charges might be the worst of what could happen. And I am sure whatever the charge my family can get me out of it.” she said fingering the tattoo equipment.
“How about holding someone hostage?”
“That too may be a charge that you could pursue. However, in the scenerio I am just as much of a hostage as you. We could both leave if you would just open up more.” she said absently.
"So you just break the law with not a care in the world?"
“You are a nomadic dragon, a gypsy if you will, have you never committed a crime?” she asked picking up the equipment.
“Unlike Daeva, I am not compelled to do dark deeds.” he said moving towards her.
“I’m drawn to people who do dark things. I am not compelled to do any deed I don't want to, good or bad. Being a daeva does not make me a bad person. That is a common misconception of my people.” she said trying to figure out how to turn the device on
“So you say but, most Daeva partake in the darkness they are drawn too.” he said pointedly as he plucked the equipment from her fingers.
“Why not join in if its fun, right?” she said with a shrug as she went to find something else to toy with.
“Morally flexible is a generous word for your people.”
“Well what can I say when you live in Anilorac for centuries you lose some of those soft moral parts.”
Yakir took into account the type of place Anilorac was rumored to be. It was literally a prison hell state. People were sent there to live out their lives as punishment if they did something bad enough.Anilorac was easy to enter and impossible to leave without the proper clearance. Those who enter there are usually trapped until they are deeemed fit to venture back into regular Detinu society. No amount of storms could tempt him to enter the toxic place. This woman was from there. Now that he put two and two together he saw how this woman could be just as toxic to his life as he originally thought she would be. “Were you born in Anilorac?”
“Yes I was. My eldest brother was the only one of us born before the first war so he was the only one who wasn’t born in Anilorac. What about you where were you born?” she said touching more things to his dismay. As she picked things up he took them out of her hand and put them back in their proper place. No sooner did he put the object back that he was taking another out of her curious hands.
“I was born in Iiawah actually. But my brothers were born in Aksala and Essennet.” he said as he put down something as she walked around him
“So there are three of you?”
He stiffened and turned towards her “Yeah, but don’t try to hunt them down.” he growled at her.
She threw a smile over her shoulder “I only have eyes for you big guy I don’t think it would be the same with your 2 little brothers.”
Somehow he believed her but he still thought it would be for the best if he kept them out of the conversation moving forward. He watched her as she walked towards the front again. He found himself distracted by the gentle sway of her hips as she walked and found himself following her. The fabric of the plaid pants she was wearing was hugging every part of her volumptious ass. She was a menace to society and a plague on his life but she had an admittedly amazing body. His eyes shot to her face when she suddenly stopped and turned around.
She faced him with a serious look on her face as she looked him in his eyes saying “If you are anything like my eldest brother you are protective of them as the oldest , right? I just want to reiterate that you have nothing to fear as far as me hunting your brothers goes. I know my word means little to you but I hope it will ease that troubled head of yours, if only a little.” she said with the sweetest smile she coul muster.
