I woke up early the next morning, but I didn’t feel rested. I’d tossed and turned all night as image after image sprang up in my dreams. I rolled over, breathing deeply as I tried to shake off the dream that had woken me. I couldn’t make sense of it.
The dream had started off nicely enough. I was walking in the woods with Jasper. He held my hand and was pulling me along to a secret place he’d found in the forest. The ground was white and cold, I didn’t know what it was, and I didn’t like it, it felt wrong under my feet. I couldn’t explain it, but I knew I’d had this dream before and then suddenly everything changed.
