Chapter 17
Joel worried. It was as though someone flipped a switch in Ken’s brain. He lost interest in s*x, overslept, and barely ate. He just stared at the TV and wasn’t interested in working around the house. They got their degrees, and he showed no emotion. Joel worried.
He talked to Lisa and Dio as they worked outside with a gardening project. “I don’t know what to do for him. I’ve been patient. I’ve tried to ask him to tell me what’s going on. I’ve just held him. He doesn’t want to walk or ride bikes. I don’t know what to do.”
Lisa said, “I’ve talked to him. He listened. Then when I finished, he just walked off. I don’t know if he heard anything I said.”
Dio shook his head. “Maybe he needs a spanking.”
“Or acupuncture.” Lisa smiled.
“Or both.” Joel shook his head. “I don’t know
