Chapter 3 April tried to keep herself from checking her watch every few minutes, but it got harder as the morning wore on toward afternoon. She expected Fran to be a couple of hours late, of course, especially when she wasn’t going to be the center of a bunch of people’s attention. But stretching a promise to be there by eight to pushing noon without even a phone call or text was still a bit much.
