I thought that the house was empty when I returned, but when I went up to my room to put away all of the beautiful new clothes that had been created especially for me I discovered Suki was upstairs in her room.
She emerged when she heard that I had returned and turned her attention to the clothing that I was folding neatly and positioning on the shelves.
