He hadn’t actually expected Frank to go, even though it had been Jay’s suggestion. Frank never went. He hadn’t from the start, even that first day when Jay had walked out of Doc’s office and found him waiting outside. Except Jay was being ridiculously naïve about that, too, because Frank was a professional runaway, wasn’t he? He’d quit a stable job, a stable life, and lived temporarily with his grandmother because he didn’t have a permanent address. Jay had been a fool to put any kind of stock in their friendship. Gay. How had he missed that? Had there been clues? He’d never been great at spotting other gay men anyway, but they’d spent a lot of tim
