Chapter 5

As the day wrapped up, Madam made an announcement: "Hey everyone, we're shutting Office, but here's the scoop – we're throwing a little welcome bash for our new colleague at the nearby restaurant, courtesy of our main man, Mr. Marco." A burst of applause filled the room, showering gratitude on Marco. "Thanks, but hold up, it's not me orchestrating this fiesta. Our CEO is the genius behind the plan," Wang humbly corrected. Cue the collective gasp. "Pack up, folks! Meet at the restaurant. Oh, and here's the kicker – the last one through the door tonight gets the honor of serenading us," Marco dropped the bomb. In the rush, Bella's mind raced. Where was Richard? The elusive character who rarely spoke or engaged with the team. "He's so mysterious, never socializes," she remarked. The singing rule hit her, and in her haste, she left her bag behind. Outside, the realization hit – everyone was already seated. "I can't do this," she whispered. But the crowd chanted her name – Bella! Bella! Bella! Reluctantly, she seized the mic, ready to embrace the spotlight. She belted out Justin Bieber's "Intentions." The party rocked on; everyone got a bit tipsy. Meanwhile, Richard, too shy to join, noticed something strange outside. "The Blood Moon," he exclaimed, rushing back to the office. "It wasn't supposed to be today," he muttered. "I calculated it for tomorrow." As the party ended, Marco offered to take Bella home, but bagless, she headed to the office. She heads to the office drunk. Inside, she heard footsteps leading to the CEO's office. Meanwhile, the blood moon transformed Richard into a werewolf. Panicking, he headed to the office. "I can't control myself," he warned Bella. Get out before I hurt, I can't control myself, I can't leave you like this, bella replied. Do you want death then, I told you I am uncontrollable once I turn fully. Transformed, he charged at her, but strangely, he couldn't harm her. Entranced by her eyes, he felt a sense of peace. Bella, frightened, questioned, "What is this?" As Richard transformed back, he collapsed. Bella, composed, placed him on the bed. As she tried to leave, Richard, still unconscious, pleaded, "Don't leave me." She stayed by his side, holding his hand through the night. Meanwhile, in Bella's world, her parents were in a bit of a pickle. They were worried sick, wondering, "Where's our girl?" "Where's this child of yours?" Bella's mom questioned. Her dad chimed in, "Is she not your child anymore?" Little did they know, Bella had left work and was on her way home. Sneaky as a cat, she tried to slip past her parents. But no luck. The moment she stepped in, her mom fired away, "Get back here, Bella! Where have you been at this hour?" Feeling the heat, Bella darted inside her room, closing the door behind her. Mom wasn't having it. "Come out, young lady! What's the big secret?" Dad, playing the peacemaker, defended, "Give her a break. She's not a baby anymore." Mom, having none of it, fired back, "This is what happens when you spoil her. Have you ever seen Sofia coming home late?" Dad, a bit defeated, mumbled, "Sofia's gone. We've only got Bella now. Let's cut her some slack." He retreated inside. Behind her closed door, Bella replayed the day's chaos at the office. She realized she might be knee-deep in trouble. Sleep was a distant dream as she anxiously awaited the next day's unraveling. The plot thickened in Bella's little world. "I hope I didn't mess up big time," she said to herself, looking worried. Then, a puzzling thought struck her, "Why didn't he attack me?" Feeling relieved to be alive, she thought, "I really thought I was a goner, but thank goodness I'm okay. I wonder how he's been managing with that condition all these years." Looking ahead to tomorrow, she couldn't stop thinking, "Let's see how things go. I wish I wasn't there; now, getting fired seems unavoidable." As night fell, she couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling about what might happen next. "I'll find out tomorrow," she thought, a mix of nerves and curiosity. Regret lingered as she reflected, "I wish I wasn't there." Sleep seemed distant as she played out different scenarios in her mind, wondering about the consequences of an unexpected turn in her day. Eventually, tiredness took over, and she drifted into sleep.
