“I'm not," Q said over the now louder roar from the temple.
He didn't jump.
He was going to throw the stones over the cliff. Madison could not let him do that. “Q, stop."
To her surprise he stopped. His gaze went back to her as the trees around them swayed in the wind.
“Let me bring the stones back, but not you. Let me complete my last assignment. I can tell them that you escaped. They would believe me."
He looked down at the stones in his hand. “You'd do that?"
