He leaned in closer, his breath sending tingles across my skin. “You have no idea how much I’ve wanted this,” he murmured, his lips brushing against my collarbone. “Then show me,” I challenged, my voice barely above a whisper, daring him to take me deeper into the moment. “Always a temptress,” he laughed softly, a deep, rich sound that made my insides flutter. “You’re making it hard to focus.” “Good,” I grinned, my heart racing in rhythm with the pace of his kisses. “I want you distracted.” With a swift motion, he captured my wrists and pinned them above my head, a playful gleam in his eyes. “And what if I like being distracted?” He leaned in, his lips teasingly close. “Then you’ll just have to deal with me,” I replied, the challenge igniting a spark between us. “Deal?” he asked, pressing his body against mine, the warmth enveloping me like a soft blanket. “Deal,” I breathed, my heart pounding, knowing full well that this was the moment where everything could change. The door creaked open behind us, and we both froze, tension slicing through the air like a knife. “Hey, are you guys in here?” a voice called, pulling us back to reality. “Crap,” I muttered, panic flashing in my eyes. “Quick, hide!” he urged, a grin still plastered on his face as he shoved me toward the closet. “This is going to be interesting.” With a mix of laughter and dread, I ducked inside, my heart racing not just from the thrill of the moment but from the impending chaos that could follow. Aimee had nearly caught us in the act, she's my best friend so I wouldn't of minded but we're completely naked. My heart raced as I squeezed into the cramped closet, the smell of cedar mingling with the scent of my own skin. I could hear Aimee’s voice growing closer, oblivious to the chaos unfolding. “Where are you two?” she called, a teasing lilt in her tone. “You’re not hiding from me, are you?” “Shh!” I hissed, pressing my back against the wall as I glanced at him. He was still grinning, his bare chest rising and falling with laughter. “Can you blame us?” he whispered, raising an eyebrow. “We were just… strategizing.” “Strategizing?” I shot back, biting my lip to keep from laughing. “This is not how I imagined this evening going.” “Hey, it’s all part of the thrill,” he said, leaning in closer, the warmth of his skin radiating against mine. “More like part of the disaster,” I muttered, my heart fluttering as Aimee’s footsteps echoed in the room. “Come on, guys! It’s not funny anymore!” Aimee called, now rummaging through my things. “You know I’ll just come find you.” “Do you think she’ll open the closet?” I whispered, my voice tight with anxiety. “Only if she’s really curious,” he replied, his eyes dancing with mischief. “I can’t believe I’m hiding in a closet like a teenager,” I groaned, glancing down at my exposed skin. “Hey, if anything, we’re just making memories,” he said, his smirk softening. “Memories that involve getting caught,” I shot back, but I couldn’t help but smile at his infectious energy. “Okay, okay!” Aimee’s voice broke through again, now slightly annoyed. “I’m coming in!” “Wait!” I hissed, panic rising. With a swift motion, he clamped a hand over my mouth, eyes wide with mischief. “Just follow my lead,” he whispered, and I nodded, adrenaline coursing through me. As the door creaked open, Aimee stepped inside, her eyes scanning the room. I held my breath, ready for the moment of truth. Aimee’s gaze landed on the open closet door, and I felt my heart stop. “Really?” she asked, arching an eyebrow, a mix of disbelief and amusement playing on her face. Before I could process the situation, he stepped out from behind me, a confident grin plastered on his face. “Surprise!” Aimee’s mouth dropped open, her eyes darting between us, taking in the scene. “You have got to be kidding me!” she exclaimed, half-laughing, half-shocked. “You were actually hiding in the closet? Naked?” “Okay, let’s not make this more embarrassing than it already is,” I said, trying to regain some semblance of dignity as I pulled a nearby blanket around my shoulders. “Too late for that!” Aimee chuckled, shaking her head. “You two are ridiculous.” He stepped closer to me, wrapping an arm around my waist protectively. “At least we weren’t boring,” he quipped, smirking at Aimee. “Boring? You mean scandalous!” Aimee shot back, crossing her arms. “What were you thinking?” “Oh, come on,” I interjected, my cheeks burning. “It’s not like we were expecting you to barge in.” “Yeah, I thought we had more time,” he added, his voice light, but I could see the glint of concern in his eyes. “Time?” Aimee scoffed, still laughing. “You both are lucky I didn’t walk in on something even more… intimate!” “Can we just forget this happened?” I pleaded, my voice barely above a whisper, wishing the floor would open up and swallow me whole. “Not a chance,” Aimee said, a playful smirk on her lips. “This is going straight into the ‘Aimee’s Best Friends’ Hall of Fame.” “Great,” I groaned, sinking down onto the edge of the bed, pulling the blanket tighter around me. “Just what I wanted.” “Come on, it’s a funny story!” Aimee said, stepping forward, her hands on her hips. “Besides, you two were cute together.” He squeezed my shoulder gently, and I felt a rush of warmth despite the embarrassment. “Thanks, Aimee. We’ll make it up to you,” he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “Yeah, just not in the closet next time,” I added, managing a half-smile as the tension began to ease. “Deal,” he replied, and just like that, the moment shifted from awkwardness to laughter, reminding us all that sometimes, the best memories are born from chaos.
