GenevaGuy desperate now, jumped onto the stool again, every sinew straining, and slammed his shoe into the small window. It cracked but failed to break, the shoe slipped from his hand. Pulling off the other one he gritted his teeth from the pain in his arms, this one had to work or he was dead. The gas was affecting his head; he gripped the shoe firmly and aimed another blow at the window. This time the glass sprayed all over him and fresh air flooded into the room. Ignoring the multitude of small cuts on both his arms he breathed the pure sweet air, clearing his aching head. He retrieved his shoes and pulled himself carefully through the window. Staggering across the sloping roof still trying to clear his lungs by breathing deeply, he saw the roof formed part of a mass of other roofs. He
