Chapter Three

1023 Words
Elara’s POV My body felt unusual. I sensed a lag between my ideas and my body's response. What the hell is going on with me? Does this mean I survived the dagger? Am I really alive, or am I in the afterlife? I tried to move my body, but my limbs feel heavy as if they were being held back by unknown powers, and a horrible odor of antiseptic permeated my nose. Wait a minute. Am I in the hospital? How long have I been here? I was about to open my eyes and yell when I heard weeping and soft whispering. "Do you see what you have done? You have jeopardized our daughter's life due to your careless behavior! Now that monster threw her off a cliff, and the doctor believes she may not survive!" I overheard a woman say something, as if she was reprimanding someone I had yet to hear speak, and I couldn't help but wonder who they were talking about because I hadn't been pushed off a cliff and didn't have parents. Perhaps there was someone else in the room. I sighed with relief and prepared to open my eyes again when I heard the other person speak. My curiosity drove me to keep my eyes closed. "The king was my last option! We would have been homeless if he hadn't come to our rescue. "We just have to hope and pray for a miracle..." The woman did not wait for the man to complete before abruptly interrupting, and their loud voices made me cringe. It seemed like I had just awoken after years of slumber, and their words were causing my head to slam. "Miracle? My Odessa has been confined to this place for months, and now you open your lips and spew thrash?Mark my words: if I lose my child, I will commit suicide and kill you as well!" Poor Odessa. Her parents are frightened, and I truly hope she wakes up soon. My chest burned horribly because my throat was so dry; I was thirsty, and if I didn't drink water right now, my throat would split in half. I was coughing non stop, and the same folks in the room rushed to me, crying hysterically. I opened one eye to survey the surroundings before opening the other to see who was in front of me; it could not be what I was thinking. They called in the doctor, then helped me sit properly and handed me a glass of water. The doctor checked my vital signs and smiled as he documented information on his case notes. This is certainly a dream; I'll wake up shortly and return to reality. "We thought we'd lost you, Luna Odessa, but I'm relieved you're awake now, and there are no issues. Don't worry; if you need anything, just ask any nurse you see; I'll be in my office. I need to inform the king…” "You would not do such a thing! That evil man shoved my daughter off a cliff, and you want to tell him what? "You better stick to your job as a doctor!" The woman murmured, and I looked away from her to the doctor, who remained silent for a long time before leaving. "Look at you, baby. You are very weak and gloomy. I assure you that you will never return there; instead, you will stay with us and fully recover before joining the human pack as you have always desired, okay?” I did not respond. I couldn't dare because if I said anything by mistake, I'd scream because I was on the verge of losing it, and everyone would assume I had amnesia or a mental disease. I don't need much drama right now; all I need to do is figure out how to convince these individuals that I am not who they think I am. "Can I get a mirror please?" I spoke in a raspy voice. The dramatic couple smirked to themselves, making me cringe as they each handed me a large mirror. It was not me. But she is a woman I have never met before. She was more beautiful, and she appeared to be smirking back at me in the mirror. What the f**k is happening here? I threw the mirror away, as if I were being scalded by a hot iron. My body began to spasm uncontrollably as I felt my wolf merge with another wolf. Does this mean I now have two wolves living inside me? Then it all made sense. The moon goddess fulfilled my final desire for revenge and has given me another chance to live my life and teach those stupid bastards a lesson. I smiled on the inside. I had been reborn in a body belonging to Odessa. This new identity wasn't so horrible, but I'm wondering who the moron was who shoved her off a cliff. "What year is this?" I enquired while they stared at one another, hoping they'd stop because it was making my head turn. Typically, when wolves are reborn. They are either resurrected in the past to change the reason of their death, or in the future to exact revenge on their past and effect change. Like they say, revenge is best served cold, but mine will undoubtedly be hot and spicy. It is going to hit them in unexpected places. "2030" They gave the same response, and I nodded. "What's today's date?" They began to stare at me strangely, and I pondered why answering simple things was so difficult. "3rd of November 2030" Eight years after my death, the moon goddess approved the greatest way to give me a second chance. I don't regret being reborn in the future because if it were my past, I'd still have to cross paths with them one way or another, but for the time being, all I have to do is call the shots and they'll have to obey. What an ideal day to be reborn. The moon goddess has her own method of doing things. Because I was in another body on the exact day I died.
