THE PARTY

As the newlywed went out of the temple, hand in hand. The guests rose from their seats and gave them a round of applause and the loudest cheers. Ace looked over at his wife and raised their joined hands.

"I love you," he whispered.

"I love you more," Kate answered.

They walked down the red carpet, and people showered them with flowers while offering their congratulations simultaneously. They immediately got into the car and drove to the field, which had been decorated to serve as a function hall for everyone to enjoy the Alpha and Luna's wedding.

"Kate, I'm so happy for you," Megan said, her eyes were glassy, evidence that she cried and hugged Kate.

"Meg, I'm glad you could come! I missed you so much!" Kate exclaimed as she hugged her friend.

"I missed you too, Kate. Oh, how I worried when you disappeared, but seeing you happy, my heart is full," Megan replied sincerely. When Megan learned everything that had happened from Jordan, tears welled up in her eyes. She was devastated for her friend, but she was also happy that Kate had finally found the man who would love her.

"I'm sorry, Meg," Kate whispered. Megan released the hug and shook her head, taking Kate's hand.

"No, don't apologize," Megan said. "You did the right thing. I was just worried for your safety," she added. Kate bit her bottom lip and gulped, trying to hold back her tears.

"How are the twins?" Kate asked.

"They're okay. I'll send you some pictures of them," Megan replied. "Now, I'm taking up too much of your time. The Beta wanted to talk to you, too," she added and chuckled. Jordan, who was standing behind them with his mate, Yanna, nodded in agreement.

"Hi, Kate," Jordan greeted. "Congratulations on your wedding, and thank you for inviting us," he added. He thought Kate would completely cut off their communication after what Thorne did, but he was surprised to receive invitations from the Luna of the Orion Wolves.

"Jordan," Kate said and hugged the Beta. "Thank you for coming," she whispered.

"I'm sorry, Kate," Jordan said. "I will forever apologize for what the pack did to you," he added as he hugged her back.

"Let's not talk about it, Jordan. Where is she?" Kate said with a smile.

"Well then, I want you to meet my mate," Jordan said after the hug and pulled his mate closer. "This is Yanna. Yanna, love, this is Kate, the friend I kept talking about," he added. Yanna smiled and extended her hand for a handshake.

"I've heard so much about you from my mate. I'm glad to meet you finally, Kate," Yanna said. Kate accepted her hand and smiled.

"I'm glad to meet you too, Yanna," Kate said. The four of them talked for a few more minutes before deciding to take their seats.

"Love, are you okay?" Ace asked, wiping the sweat from Kate's forehead. Kate leaned in and hummed.

"I'm okay, Love," she whispered.

The guests kept arriving. The following person to greet them was Alpha Khai, who was alone because his Luna was still recuperating from giving birth.

"Man, congratulations," Khai said and pulled Ace into a hug. "Kate, you too, and if this guy's being annoying, I will welcome you to Bleakhallow," he added, making Kate laugh.

"She's not going to leave, right, love?" Ace said and let go of the hug.

"We'll see," Kate answered and laughed when she saw Ace's expression quickly change. "Thank you for the offer, Alpha Khai, but I'm staying with this man," she added. Ace intertwined their hands and pulled her closer to him.

"Thank you for coming, Khai," Ace said.

"For my brother," Khai said and handed Ace a photo card. "My gift," he added with a large grin plastered on his face. Confused, Ace took it, and when he flipped it, he saw a baby's picture.

"What is this?" Ace said.

"My baby's cute, right? I had it custom-made," Khai proudly said. Kate chuckled and took the photo card from Ace.

"She's a cutie! I already know she's wrapped you all around her little fingers," Kate beamed, to which Khai nodded in agreement.

"Khai, I really like the photo card. Thank you. She's going to grow up to be a wonderful young lady," Ace said.

"I'm kidding. I just wanted you to see her. I have our gifts already sent to your packhouse," Khai said and tapped Ace's shoulder. "Congratulations to the both of you," he added and left after exchanging a few conversations with Ace and Kate.

After Khai, Evelyn approached them, with Lucas following behind her.

"I know you've heard this from me a dozen times, but I'm really happy for you!" Evelyn said. "Congratulations to both of you," she added.

"Thank you, Eve! Where are they?" Kate asked and looked around.

"Mom and Dad couldn't go, and Rafael had to go to the coven to check on something. The youngest also sends his regards and a gift," she replied.

"So you went with Lucas?" Ace asked.

"What?! Of course not!" Evelyn yelled.

"Ouch, babe. That hurt; we literally had the same flight and were seated next to each other. How can you deny me like that?" Lucas said, faking hurt by touching his chest. Evelyn rolled her eyes inwardly.

"You insisted," Evelyn said.

"I did," Lucas replied. "Anyway, congratulations, Ace and Kate," he said with a smile.

"Thanks, Lucas! And please don't tease my friend too much," Kate said and laughed when Evelyn groaned. They talked for a few more minutes, mostly Lucas teasing Evelyn, before going back to their seats. Guests continued to arrive. Marilyn and a few of her workmates from her previous job also attended and offered their congratulations. Ace's friends and some of his allied packs also participated in the wedding.

"Still feeling fine, love?" Ace asked as the party began.

"Hmmm, I'm happy, love," she said and scanned the surroundings. "I didn't know there were so many people who support us," she added.

"And it will increase, love," Ace said. He took her hand and kissed the back of her palm. "I can't wait to be alone with you, love," he whispered.

"Ace!" Kate said, eyes widening.

"Just telling the truth. You looked gorgeous, love. My wife, Mrs. Greyson," he said and planted a kiss on her neck, which sent shivers down her spine.

"And you looked handsome, my husband. Mr. Greyson," Kate said. "A few more hours, love. Let's be patient for a few more hours," she added.

"I love you," Ace said.

"I love you too."
