Chapter 4 Martha’s curls were now straight and matched her face. Rossie, the hair dresser, had used her laptop to showcase various styles on her profile picture and they’d decided together what would work with her cheekbones and jaw structure. Nobody at the fifteen-dollar beauty salon had ever spent that much time studying her bone structure to compile the best possible cut for her face. After agreeing on a style, Rossie arranged an updo, which took several hours. The sun was in the late afternoon sky by the time they finished hair and almost evening when they finished makeup. Martha watched her transformation in the mirror and held her breath as Rossie brought a red lipstick toward her and Martha backed her face out of her path. “You can’t be serious.
