When they finally arrived at the ranch, Ellery was surprised to find that the lights were on, and she could see her mom moving around in the house. That was good. That meant that she had taken the doctor's advice and rested, which was something that she never did. The black Range Rover pulled up the drive, and she got out with Landry. Together, they walked up to the house, and Ellery opened the door, calling out, “Mom?”
“Elle!” her mom called. “Is that you?”
