Chapter 9: Remove Her, Please

Kimora was momentarily got distracted as she looked around the golden palace. Inside was filled with triangular white lights that floated mid-air above their heads. There was a long rectangular table in the middle, which appeared out of nowhere. Its silver color gleamed under the lights. Fruits and different dishes were conjured, together with the goblets of drinks. What kind of drinks, Kimora could only guess for now. Old Brilkatt gestured for them to go there. Golden chairs were materialized for each of them. They descended the wide golden stairs and sat at the table. All three of them faced the owner of the palace. It seemed that he lived there alone. “Tell me where you’re from and everything from your world,” he said and gestured for Kimora to drink the one from the goblet. She hesitated for a moment before she took the goblet and drank the sweet fruit juice with blue color. She loved its unique spicy aftertaste though. “Hmm. What’s this called?” she asked instead. “Lahkoma. But you have to drink it moderately. Or else, you’ll get drank,” Pildogoz answered. “Oh? Really?” She drank more from the golden goblet, which had red dragon eyes etched in it. “Now tell me,” Old Brilkatt reminded her. “Oh, right! Well, Earth is the third planet from the Sun…” she began and went on while the men listened in on her. She thought Medakkaru was especially quiet right now and was not cussing in his head out of boredom. But then she was thankful enough that he did not interfere. She went on babbling about Earth, some customs, races and everything she could think of. She also answered their questions without withholding any information as long as she knew the answers. “What about your family?” Now it was Medakkaru who asked her, before drinking the rest of the lahkoma. Kimora was reluctant for a moment or two. “My father works as a bank manager, while my mother works at an insurance company,” she began, filling them in what kind of jobs they were. She knew all these were so much to take in, but she did not underestimate their mental capacity. Old Brilkatt’s eyes narrowed, and he scratched his hook-like nose with an index finger. He still had a lot of questions for Kimora, but Medakkaru now asked him if he could get removed her from his body. “I’ve been thinking about using the apazor potion. That will cost you about a hundred thousand points. Who’s willing to pay, my phylareus? But I’m not saying it will be effective. It is just… let’s say, an experiment,” he said with a gesture of his hands in the air. “As you well know, this has never happened before.” The elderly, whose knowledge was almost like the entire number of levhar in Dracmond, regarded them carefully. One by one. Kimora swallowed hard, looking to her left where Medakkaru’s brothers were seated, with Pildogoz between him and Mirkatthun. “My brother and I will split it up since Medakkaru has zero points. As you can see, he’s back to the white level.” Old Brilkatt nodded slowly. “I did hear his poor and unfortunate endeavor today. Nevertheless, it was an interesting duel, I hear.” He smiled at Medakkaru meaningfully. “It’s because of that girl. You could’ve probably moved on to the next level if it weren’t for her. You must have thought of that, my phylareu, haven’t you?” Medakkaru did not answer but just frowned instead. “So you think it was my fault he failed?” Kimora asked in a low tone, feeling guilty now. “Yes, it was.” Old Brilkatt absolutely did not sugarcoat it. “He was distracted by you, Kimora.” Pildogoz and Mirkatthun stared at Medakkaru. Kimora though did not know if it was her or Medakkaru they were staring like this. “I-I apologize for that,” she said, hanging her host’s head. “Here, try to take this without food or drink in your system. I’m not saying it will be more effective, but you can try. If it indeed doesn’t work, let’s try another method, shall we?” Kimora took the small vial with red liquid from the old dragon shifter. As soon as she had it in her host’s hands, she saw the Dracua tracker appear and take points from Medakkaru’s brothers and transferred them to the old man’s record. She wondered why this elderly was still in yellow level with only a total of three lives and a hundred eighty thousand points. “Will this potion not affect the dragon inside my brother?” Pildogoz asked. “I heard apazor can give side effects to one’s dragon even though it’s used to awaken it.” “True, but as I said, it’s an experiment to get rid of another soul. I have this theory that if your brother’s dragon is awakened, he could push the unwanted soul out. And yet, it’s curious since your brother’s dragon has already been awakened.” “What?” Pildogoz’s and Mirkatthun’s eyes went round. Their gaze shifted to their brother who was also surprised by this information. “My dragon’s already fricking awakened? But how’s that possible? I did not even hear him speak!” Medakkaru shouted at the old dragon shifter. The old man squinted his eyes as he peered into Medakkaru’s violet eyes. “It’s perhaps because of the soul that’s now residing in your body, my phylareu. He does not want to confuse you or her. And I think his awakening has been triggered by her appearance. I can’t say this is bad or good. It remains to be seen what’s going to happen once you took the apazor potion. Nothing is for certain, I am sorry.” “What does it mean when one’s dragon is awakened if I may ask?” Kimora asked innocently, while Medakkaru clenched his fists. “He could be the next Supreme Dragon Lord,” Old Brilkatt answered smoothly. His eyes looked brighter than ever. Pildogoz and Mirkatthun looked at each other with bewilderment. It was completely not the most insane thing they had ever heard today. It must mean something, and they thought it was quite exciting for Medakkaru. “Our brother’s going to be the next Supreme Dragon Lord, Pildogoz. I hadn’t misheard it, had I?” Mirkatthun beamed at his older brother. “You had not, and I certainly had not misheard it either. Our parents will be thrilled to learn about this!” Pildogoz said, turning his head to his youngest brother. He looked at him in a new light. Who would have thought the weakest member of the Deathbellow House already had his dragon awakened? Not his or his brother Mirkatthun’s or even his parents’ dragons were awakened until this moment even though they already imbibed numerous apazor potions themselves. But Medakkaru’s? He did not even have a taste of it since he was born. Now this is really interesting, Pildogoz thought in amazement.
