Hanna felt the weight of gravity pulling her down as she lay crumpled against the inner door. She tried to sit up, it took a lot of effort.
She didn't see Paul at first, then she saw him slumped to the side. He crashed the car. Hanna tried to bite the zip ties to release her hands. She had maneuvered them from behind her back to the front, but was still bound. She noticed that the window above her was cracked. A large branch had broken through the window. She tried to reach that glass to cut her bonds.
Hanna reached up over her head and began to move her wrists over the glass. She cut the side of her hand, but she kept going. She sawed them back and forth. There was a snap as one of the ties gave way -freeing her right wrist.
