Chapter ThreePeter woke, in his own bunk, as the first signs of dawn colored the landscape. He’d had a dreamless night. He felt relieved but a little disappointed that the visions of the previous night had not returned. He felt a little out of touch, as he didn’t know where people were on his mountain. He called out for Mishka, but the big dog never responded. Peter scowled as he walked to the stream to bathe. As usual, the cold running water made Peter gasp. It was the perfect way to kick-start his mind and body for the coming day. As his body adjusted to the chilled water, he relaxed and enjoyed the sensation. Fully awake, he began to assess recent events. His refuge on the mountain was under threat. His dog had gone AWOL. There were possibly two dead men in the area and many gun-happy
