Chapter 23
Carter cracked his neck side to side hoping to ease some of the tension from his shoulders. He had planned on going home after his argument with Kinsley and burn off some energy, but the hospital called him along the way saying one of the doctors called out sick and asked if he’d come. Carter readily agreed. He could use the distraction from half his team leaving early this morning and Kinsley.
He didn’t know what to do about their relationship. They had confessed their love for each other only last night. It was the happiest moment of his life. Then the next day she acted like it hadn’t even happened and that it should be kept secret. That she could just go back to her old life like it had never happened. Like they had never happened.
