That conversation had helped the last pieces of Evan’s puzzling feelings to fall into place. He knew he liked Miguel, respected him as a fellow student and gay guy trying to get by in a largely conservative area. Hearing him gush about this one flower and everything he found fascinating about it made Evan happy though. He smiled every time he thought about it, especially Miguel’s description of hummingbirds coming to pollinate it. “Oh, what’s this? A red flower?
