The room fell into an uneasy silence as the door closed behind the Alpha twins' mother. The tension in the room was suffocating, making it hard for Kira to breathe as she stood motionless, her heart pounding in her chest.
She never meant for it to go that far or to speak to the Alpha twin's mother that way, but the woman just kept pushing, and she really did not want to talk about the past, especially with her.
Kira felt Bryan and Aiden's eyes locked on her as she tried averting her gaze from theirs. Their hard gaze made her stomach drop.
"Kira", Aiden called out to her, his voice low and dangerous, but he took a deep breath, trying to hold both himself and his anger back, "Do you realize what you have just done?", he asked her as his fists clenched at his sides, the muscles in his jaw tightening as he tried so hard, struggling to control himself, "Do you want us to hurt you? Is that really what you want?"
Kira's hand trembled at her sides as she shook her head quickly, still averting their gaze. She took little steps back, and pressed herself against the wall as if it would protect her.
"Look at me, when I am speaking to you," Aiden ordered, moving closer to her.
She hesitated a bit and this time he raised his voice, "Look. At. Me!", he dragged out slowly.
Kira finally looked up and felt her blood run cold, his eyes were too dark. The twin's eyes were black naturally, but if their eyes could get any darker, she was witnessing it at the moment. She could feel the anger all around him, "If you keep pushing us, we would not be able to hold back. We will be forced to break you just so you remember your place."
"Why can't you just accept that this is who you are now? This is your life. Stop trying to make things so difficult for both yourself and for us, Kira," Aiden shouted at her, "What the f*ck is your problem?!"
He moved away from her quickly, taking deep breaths. She had no idea what they were dealing with and instead of respecting herself, she just keeps pulling all this attitude.
Bryan, who had not said anything since, walked up to her. He had tried opening his mouth to speak, but paused, no amount of speaking will sink into this girl. His gaze was hard as he reached Kira's trembling form.
Kira watched as Bryan walked up to her, her heart beating. She was not even sure between the twins, which she feared the most, but seeing the way Bryan was advancing to her, she moved backwards even though she was at a dead end, it was like she wished the wall would just let her in.
Without any resistance, Bryan reached where Kira was and slapped her hard on the face, the sound of his palm connecting to her cheek ringing out loud in the room, "You should know better than to provoke us," he said as Kira's head jerked to the side from the force of the slap.
She gasped, her eyes widening in shock as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. Kira reached up to her slapped cheek, verifying if the pain was real.
"Bryan", Aiden called out to him, "Control yourself!"
Bryan was usually the calm one, calculative and also very deadly, while Aiden was the one most likely to be wild, unpredictable but also very deadly. Kira may hate them but when Bryan slapped her, not only did her cheek hurt…her heart also, something in her felt like it was being ripped into pieces. She hated feeling that way, but she could not help the pain she was feeling inside.
"Are we not trying? I am trying but she…", Bryan pointed at Kira as he responded to his brother, "She keeps pushing out this monster in me."
"Why is it so hard for her to get used to this, not everything is perfect for everyone!"Bryan slammed his fist into the wall, close to Kira's face.
She had winced and closed her eyes tightly, thinking he was about to hit her again, tears welling up in her eyes as she whispered, "I'm so s-sorry."
"Please," Kira whispered, "I really didn't mean to yell, it was just a sensitive topic and….and…", her voice trembled as she spoke, "I really did not want to speak of it."
Bryan sighed and retracted his hand, watching her closely. None of them wanted this, Kira just had to do as they say and hang on.
Bryan inhaled sharply, closing his eyes as his breath fanned on Kira's face. That was how close he was. He closed his eyes, trying to find control within himself. When he finally opened them, his gaze was intense, but not as harsh as before.
It's not like any of them wanted to hurt her or treat her this way, it was just something they could not help. Presently, Kira might not understand it and that is okay, but she would have to endure as they could not lose her, they were being selfish, but it was the only way until they can make everything right again.
"You are an Omega, Kira," Bryan said to her, his voice steady, but low as Kira opened her eyes, still looking away, tears rolling out, "You need to remember that."
With that said, he moved away from her and when she looked at him, she could see something softer in his eyes and perhaps a hint of regret, but as quickly as she saw it, that was how it disappeared.
Aiden also came to where they were, "We are not going to hurt you if you just listen, do not make this hard for any of us", his voice was also almost gentle.
Kira could only nod, still afraid to speak but grateful they were more calm as she listened to them, sniffling quietly. She had forced herself to stay still as possible, not wanting to provoke them.
Bryan exchanged a look with his brother, a silent conversation passing between them.
"Sit on the bed," Bryan said to Kira, "There is something we need to talk to you about!"
Kira nodded and did as she was told, moving to the bed and sat down. Aiden and Bryan joined her at the bed as Aiden moved her to the middle of him and Bryan. Shivers running down her spine just by his touch.
Kira took some deep breaths and wiped her eyes, even though her face still stung from where Bryan had hit her.
Her voice shook as she asked, "W-what do y-you want to…", she took another deep breath, "t-to talk about?"
