Beautiful Disaster

JASMINE'S POV I know that I say it's okay for me to hang out with the wives, but what am I supposed to do!? The ladies look dignified and have never brought their family name to the mud! Unlike me, these ladies look like they achieved something that they could never. "Lady Jasmine, do you prefer tea or coffee?" Asked one of the ladies who is looking through the menu. It's weird to be called a lady by them. I'm sure they deserve it more, but why do they insist on calling me that? "I prefer tea. Coffee will make it hard for me to fall asleep." The lady nodded with a smile. "I don't know what to choose among all these desserts. I wish I could eat it all, but I'm sure I'll have to work hard to get rid of it tomorrow." One of the ladies sigh. "Why? Is it because your husband hates to see you look a little plump?" Asked the lady sitting next to me. "That and because of his family. I have seen how my mother-in-law ridicule someone who is s little too healthy in public. Even though I wish to help the lady, I couldn't because it will bring me trouble." The lady sigh. "I have never liked your mother-in-law. Why can't she realised that without you, her son's company wouldn't be as successful as it is now!? So what if you have given birth to girls!? Is that enough reason to look down on you!?" Oh, I see. So the lady's in-law is the type to prefer male over female as successor, huh? "Why do they always blame the wife when we have given birth to girls!? Why can't they blame it on the husband as well?" The lady beside me has s point too. Without the husband, the wife couldn't get pregnant! "Lady Jasmine, what about you? You've been married for six months. Does the Viceroy pressuring you to have children?" I chuckled. It's the opposite, though. "Rather than my in-laws, my parents were the ones who keeps on pressuring me. They're afraid that Cameron would find someone even better to carry his children. Luckily for me, that man loves me to the point of giving me access to Viceroy Aviation whenever he made a mistake." The ladies were speechless. "What?" I asked even none of them to say anything. "The most my husband did for me was buying me a whole set of jewellery. But Cameron gave you access to the Viceroy Aviation!?" I nodded. "He even let me use whatever car he has and gave me an unlimited credit card since he's often at the office. That man is afraid that I might be bored." I hope this is enough to show how caring Cameron is to me. "Oh my. I wish my husband would do the same to me. That cheapskate man told me that I could only buy two luxury items each month! Can you believe that?" Oh my- just two!? "How did Cameron reacted when you spent millions on jewellery? Did he give you a long lecture? I mean, every man has its limits, right?" I giggled. "Not really. Cameron asked me if he has to build another closet just to stash the new things I bought." The wives mouth were ajar open. "I can't believe this! Cameron looks aloof, but he's a total lovesick puppy when it comes to his wife. It's been six months! That stage should be over by now." The ladies agreed. After we ordered our refreshment from the waitress, I couldn't help but admire the beautiful decoration in the cafe. I have never been to a country club before, and to be honest, I don't hate it at all. I always thought that a country club is like a place for the snobbish housewife to gather and gossip. Luckily, these ladies aren't the type to look down on others. They have a good upbringing. "I asked for ice coffee! Are you deaf!? This is not the order that I want!" I heard someone scream before I felt something wet on my back which I assume is coffee. The ladies on my table were surprised, and so am I. When I turned around, the waitress apologises for the inconvenience but not the one who threw the coffee at the waitress. "Hey! You should be the one apologising, not the waitress. Look at what you've done!" I called out to the snobbish woman. "Why should I be the one apologising? I didn't do anything wrong! It was the waitress fault for being so incompetent!" I was about to stand up from my seat when one of the ladies stopped me. "Nothing good will ever happen if you decided to associate yourself with her. Her husband-," I smiled at the ladies before walking towards the snobbish lady who ruined my clothes. "Sure, but how will you compensate for my dress? You ruined it with coffee, after all. It wasn't the waitress but you!" The snobbish lady stood up from her seat with a smirk on her face. "Do you know who you're talking to? How dare a mere slut like you talk big in front of me." I took a step forward and asked her the same question. "My husband is an army general! How dare you speak to me like this!" I didn't expect this woman to throw me a glass of water. Jasmine, control yourself. You're now married to someone, and you shouldn't act impulsively. "Oops, my hand slipped. But I'm sure s slut like you prefer it this way. I wonder what kind of husband who takes a w***e to be his wife!" I sigh before using the napkin to wipe my face off. Luckily I used waterproof mascara today. Knowing that I would be overpowered, I decided to call for Cameron instead. "Honey, can you please come to the cafe. Something happened, and I don't know what to do." I hang up the phone before staring at the snobbish lady. "My husband is on his way. I suggest that you call for your husband to come as well. I won't guarantee that my husband will be able to control his anger once he sees me like this." Well, I hope she cares, though. If not, this b***h will laugh at me. “Why do we need to include our husband? Why can’t you make your own decision? Is it because your husband works for somebody else? Is that why you need to be a ‘perfect’ trophy wife?” The snobbish woman scoffed. “My husband will be here soon.” That woman added. I’m curious as to what kind of man even married this woman. “Jasmine? What happened to you?” I pretend to be a woman who is weak and meek in front of Cameron “That woman threw water at me.” Cameron then turned to the snobbish woman. “What gives you the right to treat my wife like this? From what I see right now, did the waitress got your order wrong? Is it that hard to tell the waitress nicely? Didn’t your parents teach you any manners?!” Cameron took off her jacket and placed it around me. “How dare you raise your voice at my wife!” I was surprised to see a group of military personnel walked into the cafe. This woman didn’t lie when she said she’s married into power. “You must be the husband of that woman. I see you’re the type to show brute strength even though your wife is in the wrong.” That woman’s husband seems to be a big shot in the army, though. Is this okay? “Are you going to bring this matter to court? It seems like you’re the type to do such things. But I’m sure you’re a wise man. Just let this slide, okay, wise man? Even if you manage to hire the best lawyer, do you think you can win against me?” Cameron turned around before smiling at me. “We’ll see about that.” Cameron pulled out her phone before calling for someone. “Get in touch with the minister of defence. Arrange for a meeting immediately.” Cameron hung up and told the ladies and me to leave the cafe. “Do you think it’s cool to bluff like that?! Don’t you know who I am?! I am the eldest son of the military general! You have to power against me!” Cameron stopped before facing the soldiers who snickered at her. “I will remember your faces. You dare embarrass my wife today- I will return the favour tenfold.” *** I feel so refresh! To think that my ‘husband’ would even book us a hotel room to clean myself. “Here- you can wear this. I asked the wives to get something for you to wear. Do you think it’ll fit you?” I nodded and changed into the clothes in front of Cameron. “Cameron, do you have to threaten the soldiers like that? Do you acquaint with the minister of defence? Should I called my father and ask for his help?” Cameron shakes her head no. “My father and the minister of defence played golf together. That man sometimes comes to our house for dinner. My family knows the minister’s family quite well. And I’m a close friend of his son.” Cameron smiled after putting her phone down. “That woman‘s husband is now jobless. Although he’s the eldest son of the general, it wasn’t that hard to release him from his position. Is that enough? Do you want me to destroy that woman’s family? What she did to you-,” I raised my hand. Just what is going on right now? What does she mean by those soldiers who have been released from their position? “What’s wrong, Jasmine? Am I doing the wrong thing? Should I proceed by destroying their lineage?” I shake my head no. Is that even possible? I don’t think so. “Cameron- why are you doing all this? I doubt it’s for me.” Cameron tilted her head. “What do you mean? You’re my wife, and you were humiliated in front of all those people. You took my last name- it’s the least I could do for you. I should’ve done something to that woman who threw that glass of water on you and her husband.” Cameron clicked her tongue in annoyance. “No- Cameron. That’s not what I mean. I thought that our marriage has no meaning. You’re the one who said that I am just your decoration in official events. Sure, I did call for you but for you to do such things to those people who humiliated me, isn’t that going overboard?” Cameron seems confused. “It has no meaning because I am a woman who couldn’t give you the joy of being a mother. But that doesn’t mean I should let others trampled on my wife, right?” Well, Cameron has a point, but still. Even my exes won’t go as far when it comes to upholding justice when I was framed for something I didn’t do. Cameron- you’re giving me such mixed feelings right now. “Oh! When you were inside the bathroom, your mother call. I’m sorry for answering your phone.” I waved it off. “Did my mother say anything?” Cameron nodded. “She asked that you come and see her tomorrow.” I sighed. I know where this is going. “Jasmine, are you alright? Should I be there with you?” I shake my head no. My mother is going to tell me to have kids as soon as possible. Just how am I supposed to handle this? “Cameron- on the second thought, are you perhaps busy tomorrow?” Cameron shakes her head no. “I can take some time for you. What time do I have to pick you up?” Hmmm- knowing that my mother wanted to talk to me, perhaps at noon? It’s best to discuss things with food in front of us after all. “In the afternoon. We can have lunch together. Also, is it okay for you to leave work? If you’re busy, it’s okay. I can meet my mother alone. I’m sure that woman is going to talk about grandchildren again.” Cameron smiled. “I have nothing important scheduled for tomorrow. Don’t worry. Besides, I can help you when your mother is talking about having grandchildren.” Huh? How? “Good luck. That old woman will be the death of us. She will never stop urging us to have a child together.” Cameron chuckled. This is not a laughing matter, though. “We can always find a donor. If you truly desire it, we can find a way. Don’t worry too much.” Cameron looks at the time before grabbing her phone. “I’m sorry to cut this conversation short. I have to go now. Do you want me to drive you home, or should I call for the driver for you?” I shake my head no. “I can go home by myself. Since you paid for this luxurious room, I wish to stay for a little while.” Cameron nodded before she grabbed her jacket. “If there’s anything, please don’t hesitate to call me. I’ll be there as soon as I can. Do you still keep that ring that I gave you at our wedding?” I nodded and showed her the ring. To be honest, I didn’t even bother to remove it from my ring finger at all. “Good. If there’s anything urgent, press the diamond, and it will notify the guards of your whereabouts.” What the f**k?! Does it have such use?! Cameron was about to leave when she turned around and face me. “It’s supposed to a secret, but there will always be people protecting you from afar. So, please don’t hesitate to ask for help. I won’t let the same thing happened to you ever again.” Cameron nods her head before leaving the hotel room. That’s comforting to hear. What happened a few months ago are enough to change my opinion on Cameron, but at the same time, I wish I could be free from the Viceroy family. But it’s a fact that Cameron came to my rescue when I needed her the most. If she didn’t arrive at that pivotal time, those old bastards would've hurt me. Ugh! I shouldn’t think back to that moment. Now, since I have this room all to myself- should I call for room service? Do they have a private masseuse? Wait, does this hotel has its spa centre? I’m sure Cameron won’t mind if I spend more of her money, right? After all, am I her wife- she won’t question it. I smiled as I reached out for the hotel phone and inquired about some information and make an appointment on the same day. There’s no harm in pampering myself with my ‘husband’s money. After all, I didn’t make a scene today. That’s a first. Usually, I would rip that woman’s mouth off for what she did. Why didn’t I?
