"Huh! Huh! Huh!"
Norrie panted as she ran with all her might. She has been running for almost two hours now and she cannot feel her legs anymore. The numbness crept from her toes up to her legs. For fear of her life, she has been running endlessly without any direction at all.
Swish! Swish!
Her eyes grew bigger when she saw the arrows passing her. My gosh, those men are still running after her. What's more, they are using their arrows to hunt her down. Her heart sank as she realized that she may not have any hope this time.
"Dad, mom, I'm so sorry to have failed you," her tears fell before succumbing to her seemingly unavoidable end. In the end, she was not able to escape from the hand of that man, that man whom her parents warned her to stay away from since she was a kid. In the end, he was able to take her life and fulfill his revenge. What a pity!
Her tears rolled down her cheeks as she slowly gave up the hope of survival she has been holding on to. She will die anytime soon. She should be prepared for it.
Blag!
"Where is she?!"
That loud voice rang in the entire room, waking Norrie up from her terrible dream. Along with that thundering voice came a very pungent smell that seems to be so close to her nose.
Feeling annoyed with the smell, she grimaced, shook her head and opened her eyes only to see a woman in pure white standing in front of her.
"She's awake," the nurse said as she drew back her hand with the terrible-smelling substance.
Upon hearing that, a man wearing a police uniform came nearer and checked her eyes. After making sure that she's okay, he let out a sigh of relief.
"W-where am I?" Norrie asked, obviously confused of what happened. Her dream a while back seemed so real again as it used to be. She literally felt as if she is going to die. Thank goodness it was only a dream... again.
The police officer looked at her with concern in his eyes and then shifted his eyes to the old man wearing a suit near him.
"We found you in the woods," he said as he shifted his eyes from the old man wearing a suit to look at her eyes.
"Woods?" she asked, forehead creased. She cannot remember anything about the woods. Could it be that her dream is real? But that's impossible. She clearly woke up from that dream. It's nothing more than a dream.
The policeman looked at her with eyes wide open. Obviously, he was surprised by her inability to remember what happened. With his forehead creased, he took a bag on the side and handed it to her.
"Here are your things," he said. "You fainted near a river in the woods. It was fortunate that one of your classmates reported that you are lost so we came to the rescue."
"Miss Grande," the old man in a suit said, slowly coming near.
Norrie frowned. Miss Grande? This man is calling her miss Grande? How come?
At this, the policeman stared at the old man in a suit in horror. He was unable to hide his surprise this time. Has this young miss lost her memory somehow? She doesn't seem to remember who she is.
She frowned. Strange. Why are all these people behaving strangely? Is she supposed to be this miss Grande that this man is calling?
The old man in suit came near slowly.
"Calm down, Miss Grande. I am Butler Stanley. Don't you remember me?"
Buttler Stanley. Eureka! Yes, he is her favorite in the whole world, the butler who raised and pampered her to her heart's content. At this, she smiled and handed her hand happily. He has come to rescue her again from her nightmare as usual.
At this sight, the policeman was taken aback even more. Upon hearing the old man's words and seeing how she reacted upon realizing something, he cannot seem to understand what is going on. However, he knows that this lady is safe with this old man since he is the Butler of the Grande family. The girl he just saved is the famous lady of the Grande. But what's wrong with her today? Yes, she is famous being a brat, but does she have to fake losing her memory of who she is after fainting in the woods? Shaking his head, he stared at her with unbelief. She's too pretty to be a brat. What a pity!
"Norrie?! Norrie?!" Mandy's voice echoed in the room when she suddenly barged in unannounced and ran straight to the bed. She is followed by no other than Bill Grande.
The policeman was even awestruck. Gosh! How lucky he is that he is seeing the power family just right before his very eyes. This is a rare sight in Country H. His mouth dropped. This is indeed the Grande family, the most famous family in Country H. How can't they be when Bill Grande was once a President of this country and his wife, Atty. Mandy Morrison-Grande is now working in the Alliance of Powerful Nations as one of the top officials there? However, they are right her in front of him right now, doting on their princess, Norrie Grande whom he just saved earlier.
"Norrie, baby," Mandy can't hide her worries in her voice. "How come you fainted near the river? Are you okay?" she asked worriedly.
"Yes, mom," Norrie, who appeared like a brat earlier, sounds so fragile now.
"Are you the one who saved my daughter?" Bill asked as he turned around and saw the policeman on the side.
"Y-yes, sir," the policeman answered politely.
"Thank you," Bill said and extended his hand for a handshake.
"I just did my job, sir," the policeman answered politely and shook his hand.
At this, Bill did not answer. He just smiled and returned his attention to his daughter. He stared at her lovingly as if she is the most treasured possession he has in life. Atty. Mandy did the same. She looks so fierce on the outside but the moment she looked at her daughter, the change in her gaze is obvious.
This lady literally means the whole world for this couple. What important political events could have they left for her sake at this time of the day? Just hearing how she fainted made them rush here from wherever they came from!
