Back at Kadie’s house later that afternoon, Amanda heard a whimpering outside the front door and crutched her way over. Outside laying on the patio was that black dog she ran into on her walk the previous morning, but he was looking a little worse for wear. Amanda crouched down using the crutches for balance and saw the giant gash across his stomach and up over his front right leg. His eyes pleading at her through his pain and he whimpered upon her touch. “It’s ok boy, I’ve got you.” She whispered with a pat, wondering how on earth she was going to manage carrying this big dog to the car with her foot the way it was.
