Chapter 6“Who is Danny?”
Sidney pinched the bridge of his nose. “I need a drink.”
“That bad?”
“No.” His mouth pulled into a grim line. “And I was thinking about another cup of coffee. I need my wits for this.”
“It does sound bad.”
“It’s not what you think, I promise. Want more coffee, babe?”
“Sure, thanks.”
I waited at the table while he went into the house. I felt a little impatient to know about Danny and what he had to do with us, but Sidney would explain, I knew.
In the meantime, I took out my cell and saw that Ruben had texted me.
Ruben: You all right?
Me: Yeah, I’m great. At Sidney’s.
Ruben: That going to be a regular thing then?
Me: Yep.
Ruben: Okay. Just be careful, Bro.
I heard Sidney returning so I let Ruben know I would and went to open the sliding door for Sidney
