Two weeks later
Nina had been looking forward to a relaxing evening at home, curled up on the couch with a good movie. As she settled in, the sound of the film began to lull her into a peaceful state of mind.
But just as she was getting lost in the plot, her phone suddenly began to ring, breaking the tranquility of the room. She glanced at the caller ID and her heart skipped a beat. It was John.
Just one thought raced through her mind, as she knew why he was calling. What would I tell him now? Hope he doesn't want to see me? She felt a knot forming in the pit of her stomach as she hurriedly answered the phone.
"Hello?" she said, her voice shaking with trepidation.
"Meet at the park, and you better have some information for me," John barked before ending the call.
