CEDRIAN POV I can hear the serpent screaming “you are fired!” over and over again but I'm more concerned with the nice lady taking me to the nurse's office, she's practically holding my hand like I'm some toddler. I try to let go but she grabs on my hand tightly. “I'm Page, miss Rosewell's assistance, what's your name,” she finally breaks the silence. “I'm Cedrian.”  “Nice to meet you Cedrian,” “Listen lady, I am not going to play nice here, your boss almost killed me in there and there is no place for negotiations on the table." “You mean our boss,” she replies. “Mr Vincent is my boss, not that serpent,” I replied. “That serpent is Mr Vincent's boss which makes her your boss as well.”  “Whatever lady." We finally enter the nurse's room and a nurse looking lady welcomes us. “Please attend to Mr Cedrian and assist him with anything he needs.” I smile at miss Page and she blushes and says, “at least you are smiling” “You are the first one who has gotten my name on first attempt, there is actually hope for you Americans.” She burst out laughing like have said something funny, I just ignore her and take off my shirt as instructed by the nurse. And both ladies eye my figure and begin drooling over me and it's now irritating me. “Are you all perverts in this company,” I ask looking at Page. “No” she replies with a serious face  “Thank you, now get this phone and take photos of my body, make sure to capture all the bruises.” I instruct her. Immediately Page hears my instructions, both her eyes and cheeks turn red. “Come on lady, I need evidence for the beatings I just got, if I am to go forward with this case. Get your head off the clouds and treat my body as a body that has been subject to the worst kind of violence rather than a s****l object.” “For the love of God Cedrian please stop this, Cousin Vincent interrupts us, “there is no need for photos here. Just like I said this misunderstanding will be dealt with between the two parties involved.” I ignore what he has just said and hand him the phone, “you take the pictures, you are related to Uncle Philipe and i'm related to Uncle Philipe, so that makes us family, You have to choose family here.” “Can you please leave us,” cousin Vincent orders the nurse. “Do you know that she beat me up, racially abused me and fired me on top of it," I ask him. “She did not mean that Ced, that's why I am suggesting that we sit down when all our heads have cooled down.” “You mean when she gets sober, how can this company allow a drankard to run things. do you Know that I slipped on a vodka cap, I could have hit my head and died in there. Smell this shirt it is covered in vodka that was in her mug cup.” Cousin Vincent looks at Page and they both stay quiet for a moment “Ced what were you even doing in her office??" “I was doing the job you hired me to do. Her usual cleaner Jane is sick and the other employees were terrified of filling in for her, so they suggested my name. And now I think it's justifiable from what I have just experienced.” “Page, go and see to it that Alexis is fine. I will deal with this," Vincent orders. “Alright Vincent but first before I go, Cedrian are you the one that called Vincent a foolish gay person?” “Come on Page, this is not necessary now,” Vincent cries out. “Yes miss Page, and it was a slip of my tongue.” Page walks out laughing, that lady early laughs at anything. “A slip of your tongue?” Cousin Vincent asks with a serious face.  “Page go and see if Alexiwitch is fine,” I imitate him. “She just assaulted me…..Of course she is fine, I'm the victim here.” I remind him. “Cedrian, do you still want to work here,” he asks. “Are you threatening me??” I reply “Cedrian I just asked you a simple question, put on this and let me go buy you lunch.” “Are you trying to bribe me cousin Vincent?” “I'm trying to be nice, I know you are too arrogant to notice when people are trying to be nice to you???  “Come let's go.” I take my pain killers and follow him. “You know I have never invited any of the cleaners to have lunch with me,” he informs me. “Well none of the other cleaners have ever had an attempt on their lives by a drunkard serpent, or are you telling me that this has happened before????” He stops and looks at me, then he continues walking. We arrive at the dining wall and he orders me to take a seat, “what would you love to eat Cedrian?” “You know even if you distract me with expensive food, I'm still going to lodge a complaint against her. And please remind her that my other cousin Leisha has a fiance who works for the immigration department, so it will be very difficult for her to deport me unless she hires people to kill me off.” “Good to know,” Vincent answers. “I see you are playing the smart game here, I know you are sweating in your pants right now,” I remind him.  “Ced can we have lunch and pretend that nothing happened just for 20min,” he says with his eyes closed. “And if you call me a foolish gay person for trying to be kind and have peace I will finish whatever Alexiwitch started, and depot your homophobic a*s, are we clear???” “hey old up, I'm not homophobic, you were staring at me romantically yesterday, that's why I had called you foolish. And calling gay people gay is not a crime.” He sighs and asks “So what are you having Cedrian?” “I see, you have gotten the hang of my name finally,” I tease him. he gives me a serious look and I answer him "some Juice, I'm not that hungry." "Great then, but let me just get this off my chest. yes you are family and I'm not going to allow Alexis to fire you. She was on the wrong here. Tomorrow we are going to have a meeting and we shall see how possible we can settle this and move forward, unless you want to quit,” he asks. “Quit! you are funny, why would I quit, when I did nothing wrong. And let's not forget that she has fired me.” “She just said that out of anger Ced, you called her fat??? You still have your job intact.” “You are saying it like this is your company, you are just an assistant cousin Vincent, no offense.” “No offense taken, but when I give you my word, I mean it Ced." “Are you her boyfriend? You are too confident,” I ask Vincent chocks on the water he is drinking and looks at me, “she is young enough to be my daughter,” he replies. “You Americans don't care,” I counter. “Keep quiet Ced and finish your juice,” he orders. “And it's good to hear that you are not planning on quitting, the twelve grand you bet on both uncle Philipe and Leisha is intact then,” he points out with a smile. “What! how on Earth do you know about the bet.” “Uncle Philipe told me about it.” “Is that man obliged to inform you everything about my life,” I sigh, “I wouldn't be surprised if he has told you the number of underwear I own.” Cousin Vincent stares at me with his mouth open..
