Chapter 5: Serpent of waterloowa

Serpent's path

Northward that's where Trevor and MK went, the path they took was strange the ground looked as if a giant snake like creature had made it.

"Have you ever heard the tale of the basilisk, Trevor?" MK asked in his old man form.

"Yah, I've read about it “one day a man bought a chicken egg and left it exposed in the wilderness, a snake then tried to eat the egg but accidentally bit it, releasing poison into it, the man then threw the egg away unaware it was about to hatch, the creature born of a chicken egg and snake poison, A basilisk it's appearance was so hideous it turned people into stone" Trevor explained.

"Good, these tracks most likely belong to one of it's descendants" MK said casually.

"Don't just drop information like that and ack causal about it!" Trevor panics.

"Don't worry about it, the petrification stuff should have dialed down with the ages so it isn't as potent, I think" MK scratched his chin.

"Are you seriously trying to scare me?!" Trevor yelled again.

"Sighhhhhhhhhh"(I'm not scared of snakes but...) Trevor closed his eyes and walked forward until...

'smack' right into a wall "ouch!" Trevor said as he notices the wall Infront of him which was cold for some reason.

"Wait... A wall of ice?!! From where?!" Trevor said looking at how it completely covered the path they were on.

"Guess we'll just have to climb it" MK went close to it and to the Farmer's surprised his hands were now claws.

"Claws? Seriously, what are you?!" Trevor was just getting surprised up and down today.

"Just a traveler, just like you, now let's go" the shape shifter continues to climb the Ice wall.

"Alright I'm coming, sheesh!" The young boy pouts and uses his sickle to scale over the wall.

After about 19 minutes of climbing they reached the top only to see a vast vibrant village half submerged in water.

"Wait what? There's a town here as well?!" Trevor asked surprised.

"Waterloowa village? Ha, What a name, let's go ask around" then starts jumps from the ice wall onto a wooden plat form near the submerged city.

"Wait up damn it" Trevor follows suit.

Waterloowa village

Unlike any other place he had been to, the houses were made of wood and bamboo, some were even underwater, a path above the water was made for people to pass by and enter various buildings like the supposed town hall, shop and hospital.

What was even stranger was the citizens "Mermen!" Trevor said smiling he had read about them in a book.

"Wow I've always wanted to see Mermen, hey excuse me can I touch your fin?" Trevor excitedly walks up to a female one with long black hair and a blue dress and says this.

"Ekk, freaking p*****t!" She yells and runs away from him, making the rest of the Mermen also clear away from him.

"Huh?" Trevor said confused.

"Seems like fin touching is a sensual practice, no wonder they wouldn't put that in a book" MK tried his hardest not to laugh.

In the shop, Trevor saw many exotic materials "amazing, that silver starfish looks like a weapon" he picks up a hard starfish.

"That's what we call a “Stariken” it's a long range weapon 1 silver coin each" the dark skinned Marchant said smiling.

"I'll take a hundred!" Trevor dropped a bag of coins with no hesitation.

Putting the tiny sharp stars in his bag and leaving he meets up with MK who bought seafood material such as shrimps, lobsters and crabs.

"We'll be eating well for the next few weeks" MK smiled.

"Despite how different things are here, I wouldn't mind living in a place like this" Trevor smiled as well until

'zooooommm?' "{water impact!}" A high velocity spear of water zips pass Trevor nearly hitting his left hand.

"Bamm, the spear explodes and Trevor quickly shifts into battle mode only to clash with a tridant inches away from his face 'clank!' he blocks it with his sickle.

"Tskkkkkk! Arti----shift! Dark skull Scythe!" Trevor backs away and releases his weapon completely.

"Oh my, can you feel that Trevor" MK alerts the young boy.

"Yah it's an artifact user" Trevor sensed the same energy that emitted from his scythe in the tridant.

"Don't play dumb with me" a voice came from the tridant "you are after my artifact aren't you?!" The voice asked menacingly.

Something strange then happened, 'blublublublublbu' next to the tridant a figure appeared water fall off his body as if it was used as camouflage.

"A boy?" MK said surprised.

The figure was that of a boy no older than Trevor, he had short blue hair and light skin, his clothes were black jeans and a blue tunic, strange enough the boy with a mean look on his face had a red gem embedded in his forehead, he was also a merman.

"No we're not, we just came here to buy supplies and head to another location" Trevor said lowering his weapon slightly.

"Like I'd believe that Akan ain't no fool!" The merboy wanted to attack again but.

"Stop it Akan!, You'll destroy the village again!" A young merman girl walks between the two artifacts she's wearing a pink tunic and has long curly black hair.

"But Chia, look at them, they are clearly look like evildoers" Akan addressed.

"No they look like a kid and an old man" Chia said nonchalantly

"Hey is there anyway we can clear your suspicion so we don't have to fight" Trevor asked.

"How about helping me kill the Snapurges? That would do it" Akan said sarcastically.

"Alright, Trevor go kill whatever that is" MK said not caring.

"That easy?!!!" Trevor and Akan yelled at the old man.

"The Snapurges is a giant snake monster that eats people whole, it's venom can melt rocks, aren't you scared?" Akan yells at Trevor.

"Of course I'm scared! But I really don't want to fight you since you seem cool" Trevor said.

"Cool..." Akan said surprised "well of course I wouldn't want to fight me either" he smiles and scratches his head

(Yosh, compliments can resolve any conflict) Trevor said in his mind happy his plan worked.

"You know what would be better than standing on the road and talking? Being in a house and talking! Let's go" Chia said tired of standing.

Chia's house was surprisingly big for something made of bamboo and wood, her parents were fishermen and so was she so the Duo had a lot of fish to snack on.

"So let's me introduce myself, I'm Chia the future best fisher woman in the village, and this knuckle head is my childhood friend Akan" Chia explained.

"That's Mr Akan I'm almost 17!, anyway as you can see I cleared a dungeon and got the marine tridant, however..." The boy continued.

"Huh?" Trevor said still munching on fried fish.

"I'm not participating in the tournament, I just want to use this power to protect the village" he said clenching his fist.

"You do know how dangerous that is, what if they come after that trident of yours?" MK asked.

"Then I'll just kick their asses! I've beat up more than 20 people already, I bet I could even take on a whole fleet of red guards hahaha" Akan laughed his ass off.

(This guy will die sooner or later) MK thought expressionlessly.

"That's some confidence,(but if he did manage all this it might be possible)" Trevor put a hand on his chin.

"Anyway, even as strong as I am, I'll need some help taking down the Snapurges, it's a descendant of a basilisk that's causing trouble in a water cave near the village" Akan said.

"Water cave? as in underwater?" Trevor asked and they nodded "hate to break it to you people, but I'm not a merman" Trevor raised his hand.

"Don't worry about it, I've got you covered" Chia said and winked at Trevor.

Chia brought out two black stones with strange White marks engraved on them, "These are air stones, keep on in your mouth and you'll be able to breathe underwater" she explained.

"What if we swallow them?" Trevor asked?

"Then you'll blow up like a balloon and pop" Akan answered.

"Wow" Trevor was surprised by this.

"Shall we, the sooner Trevor kills that think the sooner we can leave" MK noted.

"Tskkkkkk how about you actually fight this Time huh?" Trevor said pissed off.

"You want a fragile old man to fight a monster? How cruel" MK said in a sad tone.

"Why you!" Trevor yelled at the old man.

Underwater

The four individuals swam down below, through the clear sea, Trevor

Saw all the strange creatures of the deep such as anglerfish, squids, and numerous other aquatic life.

They finally reached a cavern that had hidden air inside.

"Wow, this place is amazing" Trevor said admiring the cave.

"Shhhh, Keep it down it might be here already" Chia said.

"Then that would be great come out you dumb worm!" Akan yelled.

"Oh boy, here it come" MK said s if predicting and attack.

"Look out!" Trevor shoves Akan out of the way as a giant green snake tail hits him out of the water. "Guwaaaaahhh!" The farmer boy yells in pain as he hits the cavern wall.

"Trevor!" Akan and chia yell in sync.

"Sssssssshhhhaaaaaaaa!"the giant creature emerges from the depths of the sea it's green scales glowing beautifully, it hisses at the intruders in it's territory, glaring it's a blood red eyes at all of them it's head was covered in white feathers as well.

"You bastard, take This Arti----shift! Marine Trident! {water impact!}" Releasing his tridant Akan sends out a huge spear of water at the snake 'zooooommm!' the spear hits it's mark.

"Shaaaaaa!" The snake hisses and moves back, the attack was strong but couldn't Pierce it's scales.

"Damn it one more...." Akan tries to go for another attack however.

'chip chip chip!' 3 silver stars are thrown at the Snapurges, one bouncing off it's scales and the other hitting it's eyes blinding it "sssshshahshhshaaaaaaaa!!" The beast cries in pain and lashes out, flinging it's tail towards Chia.

"Wooooooow!" While body is pulled out of the way by a mysterious Force saving her from being killed.

"Stay close to me Missy" MK winked at her as she was drawn close to him

"Alright (I felt a tail pull me here, but how?) " She wondered.

"Hey!" Akan yelled at the direction the stars came from, it was Trevor, he had recovered from the previous hit and was ready for action.

"Akan, those scales are too hard, but I might be able to cut through if you raise it's head high enough" Trevor strategized.

"Heh, you better know what you are doing" Akan says and swims towards the snake.

(I've not rapidly transported before, but that's the only way I'll reach the Snapurges.... Here goes nothing) 'pooffff' Trevor disappears and reappears multiple times avoiding the fall into the sea by jumping on debris and teleporting towards the snake.

"Shaaaaaaaa!" The snake hisses again as Trevor gets closer ready to attack however.

'splash!' "Don't forget about me!" Akan jumps out of the water his trident completely covered in water.

"{Rising wave!}" He then launches a high grade water attack that sends the snakes head straight up leaving it defenseless.

"Here I go!" Trevor charged forward his scythe blade turning a bright shade of purple. "{Ultra Violet!}" 'slassshhhh!' delivering a single killing blow Trevor severs the head of the Snapurges......

'sploooooshhhhhhhh' blood flows everywhere and Trevor falls into the water'splash'.

The farmer quickly recovers and looks at his blade and hands covered in blood, it turned his stomach but he managed to remain calm at least (I killed it) even at the farm he had never killed a cow, goat or even a chicken. This was his first time taking a life and it didn't bode as well as he thought it would.

"You did it!" Akan cheered.

"Amazing!" Chai added

"You really are growing everyday multiple jumps at once, fascinating" MK put a hand on his chin.

"Haha, yah" Trevor said trying to sound normal instead of terrified by his actions...

Back at the village

The Snapurges's meat was shared amongst all the citizens of waterloowa, and some was given to Trevor and MK.

Akan and Chia were seeing off Trevor and MK off on their next destination.

"It would be safer if you came with us you know" Trevor said.

"Na bro, these guys need a powerful hero like me, besides this girl would miss me too much" Akan points at Chia.

"Shut up you!" Chia shouts her face completely red.

"Hmmmmmmmm" Trevor not amused by the display of emotions just gave a face of stoic dismay.

"Well take care of yourselves" MK says with a smile on his face. "I'd have loved to fight you in the tournament as well but I guess that won't happen" he winked.

"Hehehehe if it had I would have won for sure" Akan said and all of them laughed.

"But honestly I hope we meet again" Akan smiled sincerely.

"Yeah, me too" Trevor also smiled this was the first friend his age he had ever made.

Thus the four friends parted ways

Trevor looked at MK once again and says to him "How come I could sense Akan's artifact but not yours" he asked.

"Well that kid was an amateur, true artifact users like myself can mask our energy to hide from enemies" MK said stretching his hands.

"Will I also be able to do that too" the farmer asked curiously.

"Someday, by the way what happened to your air stone, I didn't see you spit it out" MK also asked a question.

"Oh that, I accidentally swallowed it when the serpent hit me, but I'm totally fine for some reason" Trevor said touching his stomach.

"Hmmmmmmmm intriguing" MK said and looked at Trevor strangely.

A day later at waterloowa

"Guwaaaaahhh!" Aran yells as his sent flying into a house.

"Huh? I thought you send you were strong?!" A girl with wild red hair in a red jacket hissed.

"Calm down Abigail, leave some action for me please" another girl with messy dark blue hair also with a red jacket smiles ominously.

"Don't worry Emilia, I'll share" Abigail licks her lips

"You bitches, I'll show you! What I'm made up" Akan lifts his trident "{Water impact! High velocity!} Two spears of water are sent zooming at the girls however.

"Shuuuuuuuuuwwwwww" A shield of air prevents the water attack from hitting "no way" Akan looked distressed.

"If this is the level of your artifact, then it's best you just tell us what you know about the reaper and where his going next" Emilia said nonchalantly, after blocking his attack.

"Yah maybe then we won't have to kill you and take your artifact, we'll keep you as a pet hahaha" Abigail laughed at the idea of Akan barking like a dog.

"Damnit all" the merman hissed.

Chia could do nothing but hide in her house, she bit down on her lip to the point of it bleeding (I'm so useless) she said in her mind. Non of the other Mermen could do anything in the face of the red Guards.

On the wall of ice Chris looked onwards, wondering where next he'd see his enemy the farmer boy.

"Hehe, for the last time, I don't know any reaper, now leave my village or get beat!" Akan said pridefully.

"Sighhhhhhhhhh" Abigail sighed "I was really looking forward to a pet, well whatever, Emilia you can have this kill" Abigail turned around from the weak fish boy.

"Gladly" a blade of wind covers Emilia's right hand and her green eyes and marks on her cheeks glow fiercely as she charges Akan.

(Sorry Trevor, I guess I won't be seeing you again after all) Akan smiled and charged forward "Rahhhhhhhhhhhh!" He yells and charges as well.

'stabbbbbbbb!' Emilia strikes first defeating Akan in a single blow.

"Hmph, one less commoner to deal with, Emmy grab his artifact... Emmy!!!" Abigail yells.

"Hehehehehehhehehehe!" Emilia is still stabbing at the body like a play thing.

"Stop playing with that, every single time you go berserk!" Abigail yells at her psycho twin sister.

Chris looked on in disgust

As for another person in the village Chia cried and cried but nothing could change what just happened...
